Stag Weekend (6 Viewers)

I'd go Benidorm just for the cost aspect, Ireland is great but expensive.
Would also say Westport is a much better Irish destination than Dublin for a stag.

Never, ever been on a stag do. Am I alone in that?
I never have either. The whole idea seems so outdated.
It's based on the outmoded idea that marriage is the end of a single guy's 'freedom', so he had better celebrate one more time before that happens.
I guess any excuse to get drunk will do for some guys.
But just remember, you are damaging your brain and liver.
Have a good time!

Shame you've never been on one, you sound like a barrel of laughs.

Here’s the thing to consider. Get on the plane 40 minutes later land in Dublin and practically in the city centre and the stag party goes into full swing. Get on the plane 2 and a half hours land, get a coach or taxi another hour plus to get to Benidorm. You’re waisting valuable drinking time going to Benidorm if you ask me ;)

That is a downside to the dorm, that long journey from the airport. Even worse when you're on the way back hungover to fuck!

How far is it exactly? I’ve passed it a couple of times on the way to Altia (unbelievably beautiful area of Costa Blanca) but I’ve never been into Benidorm so never actually timed it. Must be a good 1 1/2 - 2 hours though. It’s good motorway though from Alicante-Elche Airport so I suppose you at least have the chance to sleep.

Nowhere near that far.

I drove to Javea from Alicante a couple of weeks back and you have to go past Benidorm and it only took me 1h 20mins. 40 mins tops I would say.

Stayed in Albir and visited Altea a few times and a lovely part of the world and then you have Denia down the road as well.

Today I may go to the Ham with my daughter to have a fee and a ini in the Bucks. Then we will go to &M and maybe buy her an at before then getting the ain back home again.

If not the Ham, we will just go to the Try instead. That's if I can get her off the Ox and stop her from playing the Craft all day of course.

The Dorm? Good grief.

Never been on one either, but only weddings i've been to are relatives (nephews, etc.), and i REALLY don't get the uncles & dads joining the stag do. Was in Krakow recently, and the number of pissed up Brit stag groups in the city (and especially the airport coming home) made my skin crawl. Polish police gave them short shrift too, as it is illegal to drink in the street.

When i got married first time, was just a pub crawl with a few mates. Second time 5 years ago me, the wife to be, her bridesmaid and hubby, and my best man and missus went to a Greek restuarant the night before the wedding, and we had a great time.

Dull, maybe, but memorable for us.

I just don't get the overseas stag/hen weekends! But each to their own.

Went on one many years ago at a private club in Lincolnshire- chap getting married was a very quiet well mannered chap . All I can say is that the two Lincolnshire lasses showed a character in him I had not seen before and tobyfair he didn’t embarrass himself - fortunately their was a cover on the snooker table and it didn’t get damaged- once they had finished with him seemed like it was open house . While now a grumpy old man 35 years ago i still didn’t enjoy the experience !

You ain’t lived until you’ve had seen a midget stripper ride your mate around like a horse. Find me a Greek restaurant that offers that and I’ll change my mind on stags.

Every one of the best nights out my group of mates has had has been someone’s stag. Just an excuse to go all out for a weekend seems to bring us all to our A game. The stories last years.

Amsterdam. Never a dull moment. An odd place in that nothing is out of bounds and at the same time a beautiful City.

It’s not what it used to be to be fair. They’re cracking down on coffee shops and the sex stuff and you can’t get psychedelics at all now I think.

Still great though. Stay away from the tourist trap of the red light district. Aside from the Banana Bar, that place is great :D

I've only ever been on one stag do, my own. We did Nottingham and that's always a great weekend away. Probably my favourite city in the UK. I fell out big style with the best man and have seen him maybe 3 times in 15 years, one being the big day itself of course. Happy days!

You could get psychedelics last time I went which was about 4 years ago.
Not a massive fan of the place to be honest, much prefer Berlin, cracking city.

What could have happened to change him from best man to a stranger?!

Never been Berlin. But I’m a massive stoner so Amsterdam is kinda like Mecca. Wanna do the States now it’s legal there too though.

I was on my stag 6 years ago and there wasn’t any mushroom tea like there was the time I went before. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place.

I don't smoke so obviously that part of it is a massive attraction for a lot of people but not something that bothers me.

I'd imagine you can smoke in Berlin, you can do literally everything else imaginable so surely you can smoke some green?!

Last time I was Amsterdam there was a shop behind our hotel selling mushroom wine though I didn't bother.

Been married 3 times. Never had a stag do. Why bother? Just went into town with a few mates, few beers and got pissed. Same old thing that I used to do every weekend.

Berlin was a let down for me. Obviously missed the good places but all the bars I went to were a bit shit. Didn't help that it was minus 15 so everything looked like it was shut up.

Definitely missed the boat on all this stag night fun. Apart from one mate who left it a bit later in life it was something like go karting in the day followed by big piss up locally. Sounds like far more fun now

24 hour square mate! Tbh it depends how old the stag goers are... Im 21 and its perfect for me but there are loads of hen and stags at the weekend, the square and marina was full of them after about 11

Was round the marina last night (I’m on holiday here) and saw both a stag do and a hen do about.
