Agree with Grendel here & I don’t think Baka was a robins signing tbh either he lacks heart & ability for a bloke of that size he should be bullying defenders he’s so timid that attempted header was a shocker Saturday.

Max is ahead of Baka for me & if we get chance to cash in we need to do so.
Good post. I don’t see Bakayoko here after January. Think Robins has already made his mind up and will be off if we could get a small fee for him even better but why would anyone pay for him when he will go on a free at the end of the season.

So I assume by your argument you’d never criticise say Boris Johnson as you’ve never been a MP?

I will always criticise proven liars and con-men in any profession.

But I will not call professional footballers 'shite' at football because that would make me look fairly stupid.

Understood?

Not really no. I assume you’d never criticise Russel Slade ax again he’s a manager with much experience and knows better than anyone with a keyboard?

From experience, your arguments usually start with the RSC for some reason...... and by the time you bring Russell Slade into an argument it usually shows you are getting more and more desperate and trying to create a diversion......

1. You have to be seriously talented to make it as a professional footballer - as such to label professional footballers as 'shite' at football is ludicrous.

2. Being a brilliant professional footballer does not automatically make you a fantastic man manager/tactician - I think that's pretty well proven at our club and many others. And even if you have had prior success as a manager it doesn't automatically translate into success at every club given differing circumstances/budget/player unrest and advances in systems.

But let's not divert Grendel this is all about point 1 and your casual labelling of professional players as 'heartless and shite.'

I do not think I’ve actually ever used Russell Slade in an argument actually.

Your suggestion no one in their chosen profession is poor though is absurd. Where next, administrators of football clubs - aka the devil incarnate Paul Appleton

Lawyers, high court judges? Where does it end?

This is the entertainment business and in this level of football an acceptable level of performance is required

He isn’t anywhere near good enough. He was not well thought of by the fans at his previous club and that collective opinion is an accurate assessment.

.

I haven't suggested that you absolute Clown.

I have suggested though that making it as a professional footballer in the modern game is one of the very hardest things you can ever do - simply due to the intense level of competition. Odds are probably one in a million. More competitive than any other profession I can think of. You don't make it by chance and to suggest that any player who has made it as a professional is 'shite and heartless' at football as you have done is just plain daft.

So it’s harder than say becoming a surgeon?

Yes Grendel. Odds of making it as a professional footballer are incredibly low - and I would say lower than any other profession. It doesn't happen by chance. The level of competition is mind blowing.

That is not to denigrate any other profession. Becoming a surgeon requires top class academics and years of training and obviously high performance. But the odds of making a career as a surgeon are I would say higher if you really want it/have the academic opportunity and financial support.

I dont think we need 3 pages of arguments to get to the main point of the issue with Bakayoko.

Fans of previous clubs are never far wrong, after all they like us are the ones who see them week in week out.

For example, Liam Kelly, Mcfadzean, Sterling, Stockdale (granted only 2 games for us) off the top of my head, all came with rave reviews from previous clubs fans, and turned out to be correct.

Bakayoko, Chaplin, Tudgay again top of my head, all slated by previous clubs fans and look how they ended up.

Same for us, Maddison, Wilson, Fleck, even Vincelot, when they leave we are all 'great player will do well for you lot'

Dont see any of us claiming Lee Burge was a fucking championship keeper to the shit hoyers when he left. And if anyone did i suggest a specsavers appointment.

What fans of previous clubs say of a player is never far wrong.

To sum up, Bakayoko is garbage and i would rather Biamou as a target man.

'To sum up, Bakayoko is garbage and i would rather Biamou as a target man.'

A comment immediately liked by Grendel. Good to see that the twat has finally changed his mind on King Max - maybe there is a God after all.

No it’s just Bakayoko sets the bar to such s low level even graham Withey could step over it

Doubt either will be here in January

Bakayoko is just not a natural goalscorer. Hasn't got the mentality, decision making/speed of thought that someone like Godden has. There was a chance in the 2nd half where we were counter attacking and got a cross in from the byline. Instead of busting his nuts to get near post and in front of the keeper he just backed off a few steps and ended up on the toes of Hiwula at the back post, while the ball went one bounce into the keeper's arms. Any decent striker in that position gets across the keeper or drops out for the cutback.
I can see why we took a gamble on him due to his physical attributes but I just don't think he's got the brain to ever be consistent enough because being a striker doesn't seem to come naturally to him.

It's interesting......

The AB debate on this thread started along the lines of: 'Can we just have one season without the need for a boo boy and positively support the lads on the team? Maybe we don't see AB as a starter but let's fully support when he's off the bench and see what he can do.....A call for fans to be balanced and support the team.'

The usual suspects then pile in with their enlightened views:
'he's shite'
'let's give him grief since he cost £300-500K'
'Walsall fans didn't rate him and fans always know best vs. professional coaches'
'heartless'
'let's be Millwall and scream abuse at the team to toughen them up'
'if he was acting in Shakespeare at the RSC I'd demand my money back'
'anyone can make it as a professional footballer'
'booooooo.....get rid'

Is it really so difficult to support the lads on the pitch - even our subs when they get on?

Obviously yes

AB may well have limitations as a footballer, but I think to say he lacks heart and desire is effectively saying "he's not trying" and that is a personal attack.

You can argue about his ability, but I don't think you can in terms of effort. If anything, being shit means he's got more effort, heart and desire because he's got to make up for his shortfall in ability to at least warrant being taken on as a pro.

Newsflash. Withey is gone already

But not in the dark hatred of Grendel's mind unfortunately.

By mentioning Withey in such negative terms he shows that his need for a boo boy and a player to be dismissive about goes back about 40 years.

Once Max and AB move on - he'll be desperately looking for another of our players to label 'shite and heartless' and then ramble on about the RSC. Watch this space.

Great day out on Saturday,Arrived at new street at 12.25 met my dad and stepmum for a coffee in the impressive new street up stairs. Then me and the Mrs( A Bristol City fan) Had a few drinks in the Shakespeare then got a taxi to ground. We popped in the Royal George pub for a quick drink as well very cheap.
Great performance thought we controlled most of the game apart from a spell from them second half for 10 mins.
Take a bow Kastaneer what a strike,Hiwula how did he miss?
Dabo my MOM the guy never stopped.
Shared a taxi back to new street with a City fan from Burton and chatted with a few Gas heads on the train on the way home and they were very impressed with us so all round a good day
PUSB onwards and upwards!!!

If I went for a hip replacement and Mr Bakayoko was doing it I’d wake up and find my left arm missing instead

When I complain to D Thomas the receptionist she would get very angry about it and tell me he’s put a shift in what’s your problem?

“My problem Ms Thomas is that this clueless fuckwit has took my arm off and I came in for hip surgery”

Ms Thomas replies with a strange grin “have you trained be a surgeon”

“No”

“Then he’s better than you isn’t he? Look at all the hours he’s put in what’s the problem if he screws up most weeks? My husbands a footballer and other than being a third rate footballer no one has to put in the hours of training Mr Bakayoko does”

“Can I have my arm back”

I do think fans are a little harsh on Bakayoko tbh, he scored 7 in 31 last season in the league and 14 of those games he was sub.

I think people expect different things these days from footballers, years ago for example Cyril Regis had over a 1 in 4 ratio for city and fans loved him... So what exactly is it from Bakayokos game that's missing? Because not every 1 in 4 striker is a poor striker and not every forward is even an out and out goalscorer so what is it people desperately hate about him.

Matty godden is going to prove the much better player for us, but he's not that bad an option to bring on is he,him or biamou will give similar results to each other I feel so we don't have much choice unless we play bapaga

Why is the receptionist a woman? (Joking)

I don’t think Bakayoko is very good but to say he doesn’t try or have heart is absurd. For what it’s worth, his goal / minute ratio is very impressive. Since Godden has arrived Bakayoko has scored the same amount of goals as him in less time on the pitch. Where are the “what a waste of money Godden is” posts? (I don’t want to actually see those posts obviously, just making a point)

To add to this though, godden has been directly involved in 3 goals in the last 2 games including the Cup game

Clearly as I’m the one who said it was more difficult to be a surgeon than a footballer. Insane I know

Great other than it’s irrelevant as he didn’t go through an academy and I may have wanted to be a surgeon at 9

It's pretty much confirming that you have more chance of being hit by a bus than making it as a footballer... Surely with the grades, you have more than a 0.012 % chance of becoming a surgeon once you are training to be one

You can’t train to be a surgeon at 9 and you don’t have to go through the route described to be a footballer
