What's the latest with Max? (6 Viewers)

I appreciate that MR has consistently stated that he wanted to ease Max back in after he's long lay off with the ACL. However, some rumours seem to be circulating that there's been some fall out between Max & MR.
I expect he'll play again today for the under 23's - is there any substance in the rumour?

I actually think its good if players are annoyed when they arent playing.

I'd like to know whats going on with Junior Brown too. You'd think he'd want to be playing at this stage of his career and that isn't going to happen here. Is it just a case of nobody willing to take on his wages?

Suspect he may go on loan until January in the next few days, his wife has just given birth yesterday/Monday I believe so he's probably focused on her and the newborn right now

You'd think we would be able to get rid to a L2 side, but like you say, maybe nobody wants him, he's clearly not good enough, especially looking at the performance of our new full backs so far this season.

As for Biamou, i think he's played too many times for the U23s and still not featured in first XI for it to be a fitness issue, would much prefer to see him to Baka though (even ignoring last nights performance which is harsh to jusge him on too much!)

MR is manager - he may be punishing Max for an 'outburst'(but you would hope it is a fixed period, rather than a petulant response) Managers need to be firm with players, otherwise, without boundaries , chaos will ensue. Fans will be ok with that while the team is winning, but cite it as an example of poor management when the team is not. I am a Max fan, seems a really nice guy, so hope he and MR can patch it up asasp.

Quick get him in the team ASAP

Forgetting whether he’s a nice guy or not (fairly irrelevant)... he’s an effective player and puts his neck on the line for this club when he’s on the pitch.

Hope he’s given a chance at this level but just don’t see where he fits in a 433. He’s not going to dislodge Godden for the central spot and he’s not a wide forward.

Rather have him on the bench than Bakayoko.

I don’t normally knock players but Baka has been hopeless in recent games, he can’t stand up ffs! when he comes on as sub he looks more knackered than the one going off. Probably a bit late now but up to me I’d bin him and bring another forward in. I certainly put a fully fit Biamou ahead of him.

Trouble with Baka is that Robins spent a lot of money (too much) on him and is hopeful he’ll turn a corner and recoup some value. Spolier; he won’t.

Would also rather have Biamou on the bench with Godden starting.

Max scored for the U23s today at 76 mins, and if I read the twitter feed correctly, was subbed off shortly afterwards.

Scoring quite a few for the under 23s.

I don’t think he was robins signing

I think he was scouted by Tommy Widdrington, who joined quite quickly after Robins but it isn't clear whether Robins had any say in that. It seems unlikely.
My thoughts....

Also I’m sure Bristol Rovers came in for him shortly after Widdrington went there.

I know, what I mean is he doesn't come across as an obvious bad apple - wasn't saying he should be around the squad because he comes across as a decent bloke - just an observation. I thought he'd improved massively as the L2 campaign had progressed and would like to see how he fared at this level, when fit (and yes, Godden will always be ahead of him when we play one up top, but I prefer him to Bako)

As far as I know there was no outburst or fallout as such
Just MR saying Max hadn't followed instructions
Max is the type of guy who will get his head down and try to play his way back into favour

Thanks better days - that suggests it will just be Max knuckling down, then.

I think Robins most probably wants him to be fitter anyway, he was struggling against Bolton in that respect.
