to say he's bone idle is ridiculous, i don't think we've ever had a striker who closes down clearances etc as well as Baka does (granted, it's not the stand-out quality that you want from a striker, but you can't say he isn't good at it).

After his debut(?) at Blackpool last year, I thought he was terrible, and would've agreed with most comments on here, but he definitely improved as the season went on.

Godden is a step up from both Baka and Max, so if one of them was to go out today I wouldn't be too despondent

Chasing lost causes isn’t effort - putting the body on the line in the penalty area when surrounded by centre halves who may bully you is.

if oggy is right and we really invested £350,000 in him that is a criminal waste of money
Surely that fee'd have to be dependent on clauses?!?

tbf to him, as the backup striker at this level, he's about what you'd hope for. That's not what you'd want to spend money on, though.

The difference is Bakayoko hasn’t ever scored goals - he’s a terrible signing - you can say that’s the manager not the player but the player is to me not just poor but lacks heart and commitment - if oggy is right and we really invested £350,000 in him that is a criminal waste of money
I would like to see if another manager would be willing to play a system to suit him instead of us....win win

Love to see a vote out of Bakayoko and vincenti who is the worst signing.

That said vincenti was a free ... Bakayoko wasn’t.

Perhaps you should return to your safe space before your feelings are hurt any further.

I guess that's a condescending attempt at humour and portraying yourself as some kind of tough guy (on an Internet forum).

Also inadvertently pokes fun and diminishes anyone dealing with mental health issues. Classy.

I was simply conveying in a round about way that you're being overly sensitive for telling people to stop being mean, on a football forum of all places.

In reply to that you've insinuated that I'm some type of internet troll who makes fun of the mentally ill. Now who is being the mean overly dramatic one here?

I will always defend a player who gets personal and unjustified abuse - on this thread alone Baka who didn't even get onto the pitch in the last game has been called called lazy/a coward/overpriced (as if that is the player's fault) and someone even said 'he was responsible for the worst performance ever seen in a City shirt.'

It was interesting to see the usual suspects who seem to live to throw criticism at certain players immediately jump into the debate. They are usually happiest after we've lost and can justify their negativity - great fcuking fans.

I was just pointing out again on this thread that it's very damaging to the player and team morale to see one of their mates get this kind of personal criticism. I don't think Baka has been a disaster in his time with us but I also more than see why Godden is our starter. I will support Baka off the bench when he plays and also trust in Robins to keep evolving the team.

Criticism is obviously sometimes justified but to continuously jump on a player who didn't even play last time around is going too far.

Your only contribution to the thread seems to be focused on calling me over dramatic vs. perhaps commenting on others who accuse Baka of being a 'coward' and 'responsible for the worst performance ever seen in a City shirt.'

Total waste of money, waste of a shirt, and waste of a squad position.
His attitude is piss poor, he is totally unprofessional and serves as a very bad example to the younger members of our squad.

I will give 100% support to players who show pride, passion for the shirt, and commitment for the challenge, but I reserve the right to publicly criticise any player who falls short of what is expected of them, on or off the field (eg Hickman)
I expect professional sportsman to act in a professional manner, i can accept a lack of talent, but never a lack of effort.
Is that really too much to ask?
I couldn't agree more.

Made my mind up when he made his debut at the Ricoh, and he's done nothing since then to change my mind.

The general consensus of City fans is he's shit.

The overwhelming consensus of Walsall fans was he is shit.

I think we can safely back the stats on this one and conclude that Baka is indeed, shit.

No further discussion warranted

Remember when Callum Wilson was shit? When Maddison was shit? When Jacob Murphy was shit?

Not saying Baka is a world beater but football fans don't exactly have the best track record in judging players. He frustrates me but those I've heard speak who have been close to training seem to think there's a player in there but it's not showing. I'd have been all for a loan to a league 2 team if we had adequate cover.

I think with them players we could see it Baka is a poor footballer well below league 1

He lacks a yard of pace & a killer instinct. But honestly some of the shit you read on here... it defies belief. Some people must really enjoy having a dig. Worst player ever yadda yadda. What bollocks. Must have very short memories.

Oh God, the most embarrassed I’ve ever felt as a City fan was watching some fat, balding, piss head waddle down the Ricoh steps so he could stand ten feet from Murphy, take his phone out, and go “just taking a picture of the worst player I’ve ever seen in a City shirt”.

If you boo players or enjoy spouting off about how shit X or Y is more than you do cheering a goal, you’re a sad, pathetic excuse for a human and the team would genuinely be better off without you.

They were called shit by a minority of fans, who can clearly write there football knowledge on a stamp. Was obvious after a few games that each of them were great players.

Baka is called shit by i would say over 80% of our fanbase, and that is telling. When almost 100% of fans would prefer biamou over Baka then thats the nail on the head

Surely Keith O'Neils 2 minute appearance was the worst ever? Warms up for 20 minutes, gets the nod to go on, runs into the pitch and pulls up lame, is subbed back off the next time the ball goes out of play.

Anyone that's calling Baka lazy, and crediting him with the 'worst performance in a City shirt' etc, must have forgotten Yakubu

I'm happy for everyone to have their own opinions. It's what makes a forum like this work as well as it does.

You said the comments were "mean and served no purpose" which isn't true as the purpose is to create opinion and conversation. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean they're wrong or there's not some truth to it and even if it is a load of bollocks, so what?

It's a laugh. No one is getting stabbed or hung over it.

Such a laugh to continuously denigrate and personally criticise one of our players who isn't even featuring?

Or mean spirited and pointless?

I'm happy with my own positioning on this.

If you think it's a good laugh to viciously put the boot in on a player who is not even featuring - perhaps you yourself need to find a safe place to reflect with some of your mates on here.

You know you've lost an argument when you try to use the other persons insult back on them.

You're not very good at this, old bean.
