So why did the bastard poison his dog, Blondi? He wanted to kill himself, but the dog had a right to carry on living! But Hitler wanted to "test" a cyanide capsule!

The only brexit they’re blocking is a no deal brexit so no they’re not breaking the law as the law is they can block a no deal brexit. This means Boris has to get the deal he promised all along.

there are definitely MPs who see blocking no deal as the first step towards blocking brexit.
In the same way there are those who talk about getting deal to get people on side when they have no intention of getting a deal and ultimately want us out without one.
These are the people we have representing us these day, disgraceful.

They’re not blocking Brexit, they’re blocking a no deal Brexit. The ERG have actually blocked Brexit before though.
If Corbyn was shutting down parliament and threatening to break the law, they’d be a meltdown on here.

The history books. This won’t be the first time that the commission hasn’t had a full complement of commissioners and continued to function, there is actually a precedent for this and the legal arguments was tested long ago. It isn’t even the first time Boris has suggested this as PM.

Last time I believe was in 2016 when the Hungarian Commissioner IIRC resigned. The commission was down one for five months. There’s allowance for this in EU articles for an undetermined short period of time, the longest precedent being I believe the 2016 incident of five months. So basically Boris has got to go and ask for an extension before then and there’s a precedent set for the U.K. to not have a commissioner for a period of at least 5 months so a 5 month max extension based on the current precedent looks more than doable. Of course this was all pointed out the first time that Boris made the threat which IIRC was his first day as PM.
Just to add I also recall reading that the nominees were supposed to be named last month and the U.K. sent the commission a legally binding letter stating that it wouldn’t be making a nomination and confirmed that the U.K. is not objecting to the commission continuing minus a commissioner.
He may have already pissed on his chips with his latest round of idle threats as there seems to be more than one way that the EU is covered.
