Season Ticket holders to get discount next campaign following Bury cancellation (7 Viewers)

Following the sad news of Bury's demise and their team not competing SkyBet League One, the league has been reduced to 23 teams.

This has meant our games against Bury on Saturday 21st September at Gigg Lane and on Thursday 26th December at St Andrew's Trillion Trophy Stadium being cancelled.

While obviously the anguish and distress of fans of Bury is great and unimaginable, we know many of our fans will be disappointed that these games will not be taking place, in particular the traditional Boxing Day fixture.

Coventry City is under no obligation to refund fans who bought a Season Ticket based around 23 home league games - this situation is completely out of our control, and is covered in our Customer Charter and Season Ticket Terms & Conditions.

However, we felt it was right to do something for our supporters who have committed to a Season Ticket, paid their hard-earned money and are now missing out through no fault of their own.

Therefore, all 2019/20 Season Ticket holders will receive a £13 discount on their Season Ticket next season - essentially a free game in 2020/21 to make up for missing out this year.

We're unable to provide a monetary refund this year due to budgets being set and the financial consequences there would be for us this season, but we are happy to commit to providing the discount for fans next season.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with Bury FC, their staff, players and their supporters at this time.

That bit is quite interesting. You would think the loss of a match would be covered by some sort of insurance or EFL.

Also I look forward to the melt down on social media of the so called fans moaning this is an outrage.

It works out that over the course of a season fans lose out on about 50p a match...
I've seen a fan on Facebook ask for a free away day ticket and another brand it a joke.

Would people really have had a problem if the club just kept the money, I wouldn't

I’d much prefer if they kept the money personally.

I expected ST holders to get a free ticket to the Southampton JPT match to be honest. Nevertheless, not complaining that it’ll be slightly cheaper next season.

Hi Jonathan. Thanks for your comments - we understand you may think our gesture is a 'joke' however, as you are not a current Season Ticket holder you will not be affected by this.

Was just about to post that. I love the way they clap back at some of the idiots these days.

That's what I was expecting as well, try and bump the attendance up a bit. Fair play to the club, don't think most people would have been that bothered if they didn't get anything back.

He might not of worded it in the best way but in fairness he does have a point. Forget about trying to claim some points for saying you will refund ST holders £13 how about let us know when we will be returning to Coventry.

You're right. The person in charge of day to day affairs should do fuck all work until Seppala and Eastwood have sorted stuff out.

Offering £13 off when we have no where to play next season. Quite ironic that we could be in the same position as Bury next year. So yeah maybe they should sort stuff out eh

Is that what it was? Not sure which is funnier.

No no I don’t think so.

Just think it’s be funny if someone took it upon themselves to do that as there’s so much ammunition on the CCFC social media.
