Marosi v Burge - Upgrade
Dabo v Stirling - Downgrade
Mcfadz v Willis - Different type of player, marginal upgrade
Hyam - as last year
Mason - Better player than last year, upgrade
Kelly / Walsh - As last year. Better cover for Kelly's not infrequent injuries
Shipley v Bayliss - Different type of player, marginal downgrade
Westbrooke v Bright Downgrade
Godden v Baka - Upgrade
Jobello v Thomas - Downgrade
Hiwula - As last year. O'Hare would be an improvement

Over the whole we are better in 4 and worse in 4 and the same in three. We are stronger in the central spine where it really matters - Marosi, McFadz, Kelly/Walsh and Godden is much better. We were very reliant on the three loans last year.

Dabo is not a downgrade on the Sterling we saw at this time last year.

I doubt that we will drop out of the top 6 all season!
Autos is definitely a possibility - definitely maybe!

A lot of the 'contenders' will take points off each other, If we keep on playing as we are, and don't suffer too many more injuries, we will beat most teams at home. That gives us a real shout this season.

There is far too much 'glass half empty' on here instead of half full.
MR's has clearly done things right and stepped it up a gear from last season with better recruitment, and I think far too many on here fear opposition teams and their credentials for promotion instead of realising we are feard by many of them!
It's early still but we have Kelly, Allen, Walsh, and O'Hare who when all fit will be the core of a very strong team compared to many in this league. We are top now using Shipley, Westbrooke and a young 18 year old at left back and players in Jobello and Kasteneer who look far from the finished item. We don't know what influence will come from Jodi Jones either yet. Max Biamou only just made the bench today. So yes we are far superior for a promotion challenge compared to last season. We play our home games on a superior surface too, and ironically away from the Ricoh there seems less pressure on us. Don't forget we have a goalkeeper that makes us confident at the back unlike the previous incumbant.
Don't over estimate the others, I beleive an automatic spot is a very good possabilty.

8 games out of 44 played. At the moment things are good, long may it continue. But think some people need to slow down.

probably need another 54 points for the play offs from 36 games 1.5 points per game
something like 15 wins 9 draws 12 defeats
That is very possible as long as we dont go on a coventry style dip in form

Autos will need us to maintain current form
Ithey were saying not winning in 4 is becoming a problem on quest. Not sure

Just back from watching the evening game on the big screen at the local bowling alley. Raucous atmosphere to put it in perspective...

I live in Lowestoft and was lucky enough to be offered a ticket. Really enjoyed the game, and for once a half decent atmosphere at Carra Rud.

Fuck Peterborough. They scored 6 today but Rochdales keeper got tackled for 4 of them. Nothing to fear in this league. Ipswich top player is Norwood who's scored about 4 pens that's it. This league is for the taking and with Kelly in our ranks, why not us

And some people need to stop putting a dampner on things.
We're in promotion form and I would say have only had one result this season we wouldn't have taken prior to kick off.

We have not played our first choice starting 11 yet and we still have players bedding in.
There's a middle ground between booking the open top bus and trying to pick holes in what has been an unbelievable start.

Lots of us have moaned about some of the players either being not good enough or in some cases shit, me included but collectively as players they have taken us to the top of the league so for me on this Sunday morning I say well done you fucking beauties keep up the brilliant work and lets all enjoy this moment and acheivement so far

Irony when a goalless draw puts us at the top of the league - look at the goal difference - we need to give someone a thrashing to redress the balance PUSB

Ipswich is only better because of their game v Bolton. Otherwise we're pretty much the same as all the other front runners. Posh banged in goals yesterday to boost their goal difference. They will be interesting, historically they've been great going forward but dodgy at the back. Teams that can defend will have joy against them.

Definitely a simplistic view but for me we've got a keeper who isn't a disaster waiting to happen and a striker who scores goals. The rest sorts itself out to an extent.
Shit, mistake ridden keeper and nobody to find the net or at least occupy opposition defenders and the rest doesn't matter.

Sure they said that was Peterboroughs 4th clean sheet in a row

Which is why it’s not such a bad thing for us to have no game on Boxing Day. That period is ripe for injuries with lots of games and dodgy pitches.

It's a great start to the season and the players really do have belief in themselves, that's the real difference so far. That was clear too me at the Pompey game and the longer this run goes on that belief will only get stronger. PUSB

Really pleased with the start, but we're only top because a handful of teams have played less games. Ipswich, Sunderland, Peterborough & Rotherham would all be above us if they won games in hand. Doubt we're top after next weekend when it evens out.

We'll definitely drop a few places but we'll still be right in the mix and I think we'd all have taken that at the start of the season.

Rose is a good buy and gives us options at the back.

Why ? They certainly walked to relegation last season, Rock bottom almost all season.
That has zero relevance to league 1 where they should be one of the strongest teams in the division recently relegated from a level higher

We have done ok so far. There are a few players to come back from injury. We also have a few players who I think can improve as the season goes on.

Lets see where we are at Easter and hope we hit top form for the run in.

A bit bloody harsh on Dabo. Sterling was piss poor in his first few games, granted he improved, but to say Dabo is a downgrade after 5 or 6 appearances is a joke, especially when he gets too little cover from Jobello!!!
