100% increase on St Andrews average. I think it would be a lot more than 12k.

We sold out last time because it was cheap tickets.

Not sure who the part time fans are I go home and away and I can't wait until we are back in Coventry. I'm not bothered about the pubs and the food stalls. I hate all of the Wasps paraphernalia but I can ignore that. The club may not get much from the food, drinks, car parks etc but that shortfall will be more than made up for by the huge increase in attendances, at least 100% on the St Andrews gates. The pitch is the only real downside. However, to say we need to stay in Birmingham because the pitch is better is daft.
We need to come back ASAP.

Don’t agree with everything you say all the time, but this post I can fully agree with.

This season is going great and the pitch at St Andrews is a contributing factor. But what about in 3-4 years time when we’ve lost so much money we need to buy Nuneaton’s cast offs. We can’t just be thinking about this season, as easy as that is to do. Any chance of a return to the Ricoh (and yeah, I hate seeing all the Wasps stuff around) should be snatched at, as long as it’s a deal that doesn’t fuck us over and gives us a decent foundation to work with, revenue-wise.

We shouldn't be craving to be back in Cov at the earliest opportunity that could potentially put the club over a barrel again in a year or so. The move back to the city needs to be on the right terms which mean we will control, or eventually control our own destiny. Partial control, or a route to, Ricoh ownership or move towards a new stadium. This HAS to come to a head this time.

If you remember, it wasn’t so easy to get tickets for the Gillingham game. It involved joining long very slow moving queues at the shop at Gallagher retail park. While football for a fiver, or what ever it was, may have been what attracted some people, it did require a degree of commitment to go and get the tickets. I don’t know about you but the minute I found out we were returning to the Ricoh I was euphoric. It meant that after more than a year my sons and I could watch our team in our city rather than peer round the edge of the stand from the hill at Sixfields. I think that euphoria was felt by many in the city. Look at the thousands of people who attended the two marches.
Little did we know that the biggest blow to our club (the sale of the Ricoh to Wasps) was just about to happen.
I don’t think we will get the same reaction when we return this time but I think you do lots of people a dis-service when you say they will only come if the tickets are cheap.

It’s a tough one really because the St. Andrews March experience is far superior, better location with a better pitch as well for our style of play.

The alternative is go back to the soulless Ricoh branded with wasps logos everywhere which just leave a sour taste in the mouth reminding me that the council sold the stadium built for the club.

St. Andrews isn’t sustainable obviously but the Ricoh isn’t home. God I wish we could build our own stadium near the city Centre

I wonder if there is anything the club and the supporters can do between themselves to improve the match day experience?
Going to SA has been an eye opener in terms of how shit the whole Ricoh experience really is.

Unless you can move the Ricoh near a town centre or build pubs by the ground which serve pints for less than £2.50 then no there isn't.

For me the only thing is having a regular train service to the Ricoh.

And? Are you suggesting that I’m against building and owning our own stadium in Coventry? My post was about people saying they’d rather be in Birmingham than at the Ricoh.
I would rather be in England than Canada having said that I wouldnt mind go there on holiday :)

Dave Boddy chats with wasps every week... Cheers for that in-depth interview Trish

I like Boddy, but (and I know it's no surprise) the message from him that interview was incredibly transparent with regards to expectation about the likelihood of anything about a new stadium. The EFL have given us 3 years to 'sort it out' and I suspect that our owners are involved in a game of blink with Wasps and are hoping they will shift their position first due to financial pressure. The downside is Wasps know the time limit (though I suspect the EFL would extend it rather than see us do a 'Bury') and hope that SISU will be forced to back down before then (they won't). Awful for the fans, BUT if Wasps are not willing to shift their position, I hope they do go belly up and we can then move back to The Ricoh.

Neil from the SBT seemed to be rather rattled though. Appreciated the sentiment of his comments but seemed to react as if this was new news.

CWR sensationalised/exaggerated Neil's comments too. Didn't think what he said was represented by their 'headline' on the news.

Bet Boddy couldn't sleep last night knowing he was going to have to get through a tough interview with Trish!

As expected a complete waste of time and nothing we didn't already know.

He didn't come off well to be honest. If he's going to be the trust spokesperson moving forward he'll need to up his game.

from everything I've seen of him so far it's hard not to conclude that he's out of his depth.
I'm sure he's a nice fella and trying his best but he appears fairly clueless. Knows a lot about films though.

What was said?
That's the thing, he said nothing but managed to sound completely rattled and taken by surprise! All he said was when are the talks and when is the new stadium being built. It was more the way he came across.

They did that with Boddy was well, he had to pull them up that talking to Wasps was not the same as having negotiations about coming back.

Basically we're no further forward and nothings changed. Wasps position is the same, and we all know unless that changes a Ricoh return isn't happening and Fisher is making vague comments about a new stadium. Why when Fisher talks about a new stadium and looking for a site does nobody ask what is going on with Woodlands? Has there been a response from the council, is that off the table now etc.

I don't know why people bring up the new stadium.
I wish the interviewer would make it clear to fisher from the start that the fans don't believe you, no one believes you, you offer no evidence that it is going to happen, until you do we won't discuss but will concentrate solely on how you can get City back in to Coventry.
Though even that is a waste of time until wasps stop being wankers.

People bring it up because Fisher goes on the radio and starts talking about it.

If I was interviewing him and he started banging on about getting agents in to identify suitable sites I'd be saying hang on a minute, what happened to Woodlands. The next question would be you're 6 years in to a new stadium project why are you still at the point of identifying sites.

Sounds like his tweets then.

He just keeps saying bring us home and mentioning some team called Team Fiat and look what happened to them

And the answer was we have 3 years from the efl

So if we potentially had the opportunity to come back to Coventry, our rightful home, people would rather stay at Birmingham because the pitch is nice? Jesus wept..
Everyone with any sense must be pushing for us to play in our home city but a word of warning about the pitch if we go back to the Ricoh - Massive investment would be needed to the pitch on an ongoing bases or potentially we lose Robins as he is very strong on this point as he got really P---sed with the pitch last time round
