A friend of mine used to manage MK City. Seem to remember Wolverton FC was a seperate club (could be wrong). The ground has now been built on (ex British Rail coachworks site).

The ground is still there and the pitch is a park for the flat owners. The Royal train sheds were converted into flats. The main stand is still intact

You've made a lot of points about Wimbledon, Winkleman and the move being wrong which I have never denied and I agree it was all wrong.

However, they are there now, have been for 15 years, and my point all along has been about the fans. Do you think a 15 year old who has grown up in MK who has never been alive when Wimbledon FC existed should not go to watch his local football team? Who would you suggest he goes and watches instead?

Children growing up in MK want to go and watch their local side, their parents, probably Liverpool or United fans will take them. Do you think less of them for doing so?
The obvious response is that if Wasps are still here in 10 or 11 years time, will it be okay for 15 year old Coventry or Warwickshire kids to go and watch them, see them as their club?

Yes - there is a park there, so not all of it has gone. - I have walked by the flats a couple of times. They actually look quite good. Nice to see some built heritage preserved in this way.

People can do what they want, I don't have the right to say what's okay and what's not.

You suggest that it is partly the fans fault that they have validated the move by going to watch. If 4000 (the capacity) people had gone to Wolverton Park to watch Mercedes-Benz FC every Sunday morning do you think Winkleman would have put his money into them instead of moving Wimbledon in?

So you don’t see anything wrong with people in Coventry and Warwickshire going to see Wasps?

I still don’t really understand your argument. You agree that it is wrong to take a club away from its own area and set it up somewhere else. However, you also seem to be saying that if that happens, it is still okay for the people of that town or area to go and support the franchise club?

Completely different situation when regarding fans, as we are. You seem confused, every situation judged on its own merits and circumstances, Wasps to Cov and Wimbledon to MK is very different circumstances, but for the simple minded who don't know what they're talking about its easier to lump it all in as the same.

...Wimbledon is in London not Milton Keynes. Changing the name doesn't change the home.
...Remind me of the capacity of Dean Court
...Building work is about to start, you obviously have no idea what an obstructive council is capable of
It could be arguesd our club is on the way to oblivion. I assume you'd be happy if we

It's the same in.principle and it's wrong.

None of the above has anything to do with the fans, which we are talking about here. We both agree that moving Wimbledon to MK was wrong, thanks for your input though.

And the fans are wrong to support them. As has been pointed out to you.
If you disagree fair enough. But that opinion doesn't put you on a different intellectual plain to everyone else no matter how hard you try to make out it does.

If the situation is exactly the same, who is the Cov Rugby in the MK scenario?
You know, in everything there are anal, trivial differences. It's the simple minded person who looks at the minutiae however.

You're right there is a difference. CRFC haven't gone out of existence, blaming Wasps as they go.

You don't have an answer?

Seems like an answer to me. Start from scratch like every other team. Surely, part of building a community spirit around a club comes from building from the bottom. They’ve cheated and they took away a club from its own community. Sure, not the fans fault, but most can see that’s not right.

I did answer. They shouldn't support a team ripped from the heart of their community.
I'm sure there were teams in Milton Keynes they could support
Id love you to tell me the name of just one. This is what makes the scenario different to Wasp/CRFC.

If there had been a 145 year old football club embedded at the heart of the community, no matter what level, I would absolutely agree that the people of MK should follow them as opposed to franchise MK, however there just isn't. Which is why the two scenarios are different when concerning fans and who they "should" support.

My point exactly. You've summed up my views perfectly.

Like I said, you're entitled to your opinion but I disagree and I will never be ok with what happened to Wimbledon.

Yep, Ill never be happy with it either.

I think I've opened your eyes a little to the situation regarding the fans, which is good. Hope you have a lovely weekend and hopefully Ill see you at stadium MK in a few weeks

You've opened my eyes to nothing to be honest. You're not quite the sage you think you are.
And you definitely won't see me at MK as I never have and never will step foot in that stadium though I will be at Rotherham tomorrow to see us play a proper football club.

Seems to me that when some people are losing an argument they start to throw insults around.
You never did come back to me,by the way, and say at which level the ‘Dog and Duck’ label kicks in.
Having read your replies which are above this one, it seems to be that it is okay for people in MK to support the Dons as there was no league club in the town, and the non- league team were at Dog and Duck level, so they don’t count, and the unfairness of the move and the distress to Wimbledon fans doesn’t count.
However, you feel it is not okay for the people of Coventry and Warwickshire to support Wasps as there was already a rugby club here who presumably were better than Dog and Duck level.
With MK fans you seem prepared to totally disregard the injustice of what happened to Wimbledon, even though you acknowledge it was wrong.
It must be my simple mind but I just can’t understand how you can have that view.

As a significant proportion of the population of MK came up from London, there is a big support for the London clubs. Probably there is an historic family association. Not too difficult to understand

It’s almost like saying that you understand that a burglar was wrong to steal things from a household (the burglar in this case being Winkleman), you can understand how the people who were robbed would be upset. However, it’s fine for the burglar to keep the proceeds of his robbery and fine for others to benefit from it too.

So if Coventry City are ripped out of there community and settle in another town do we stop supporting them and move on to Cov United, Sphinx or Alvis.

we have been ripped out of our community.
The comparison would be if a football club was taken from its traditional home and relocated to Coventry would I support them - the answer is no.
