Any ideas if we can appeal it?? Defiantly wasn't a foul let alone a red card!!! Fucking shite refereeing as usual

I thought they changed the rules a couple of seasons ago, where if they gave a penalty, you no longer automatically receive a red card for a last man challenge?
Exactly, mate it was never a foul in a million years, its clearly shoulder to shoulder and the Rotherham player throws himself on the floor... should have been booked for diving

Tbh, it was just a stinker of a performance all round. I wasn't surprised that two penalties and a red card given against us.

I wouldn't appeal as it'd be forcing someone to watch our defending which seems cruel, ideally all footage of Saturday would be incinerated.
We need him back alongside rose for Sunday though... thats the partnership that was working best

My rotherham season ticket friend in front of their goal said they were howling with laughter that the pen got given and he got sent off. Said it was neither. They also howled at how dogshit mcfadz was but that's a fair assessment

Only seen once on tv and looked like he deliberately tripped him so that would make it a red as not trying to play ball.

Harsh, he's been our best defender up until Saturday.... Hyam had a shocker too giving them the 4th goal
Agree he looked better with Rose but he’s been making mistakes most games his passing is woeful at times he give them 2 goals Saturday 1 against Pompey it’s not good enough mate Hyam & Rose I hope will become our pairing.

You might want to read the rules

He’s right though. As McFadz didn’t attempt to play the ball it had to be a red. The ‘double jeopardy’ ruling only applies if it is felt the foul is a result of a genuine attempt to play the ball.

The art of the "shoulder to shoulder" challenge has been lost in recent years (or certainly the ability to referee it has). Most of the time, it is one player barging the other off the ball with the shoulder, which is a foul. There is no benefit for the attacking player to try and win the ball by going for a shoulder to shoulder, as if they fall over in response to a shoulder barge, they'll get a free kick or penalty.

Yeah but that's not what was said was it. It isn't simply last man + foul = red anymore.

It was literally shoulder to shoulder which i thought was allowed in football! He didn't push into him or trip him up!! One of the worst decisions I've seen
He pushed him clearly with his left arm, it was no where near shoulder to shoulder. It was a clear pen and sending off.
