Good news on many different levels

Stability for the club as a whole but more importantly the squad
For the structures being put in place,
A clear hands off statement to other clubs, and puts his price up
Shows and demonstrates faith in MR
A clear strategy going forward in terms of what the manager wants to achieve
After losing the academy head it keeps the club direction at the younger ages consistent
Is good PR for the club with the fans
It's positive and simple PR for the owners
A good opportunity to say we want to be back in the city
Well timed and quickly done

This usually my thinking too and I'm off the opinion to accept the approach, take the compensation and put that in the kitty for wages for someone new as it usually ends up costing us money when we sack them four months later.

But not this time. I think MR and CCFC are a good fit and just seem to work. Very happy he's signed a new contract.

Always have that little doubt in my mind that it's been done to maximise compensation/transfer fee and most of the time when we get someone signing a new long term contract they're invariably off to pastures new in the next six months, but hopefully with MR and his experience leaving us last time will make that less likely.

Would be nice to know how long it was for - I always have a feeling managers are more likely to be on rolling contracts and this is effectively just a pay rise, hence why negotiations didn't take that long.

Confirms my oft repeated view that he is on a good wedge - and it's even better now. They trust him unlike any other of their 8 previous appointments! The trouble is that he is coming to the end of his third year, which is when managers start to loose impact. His conservatism may yet be his undoing.

Great news ! Just seen the SSN interview and Robins sounded genuine with regard to his affinity for the club. He also mentioned leaving before (and alluded to that not working out particularly well)
