I think there’s some more been done over the weekend. You’re right about the The Brexit Party loosing votes though. Pretty much every poll has their share halving. Ferage has overplayed his hand.

Exactly the same thing could be said in a nice Tory constituency in the Home Counties.
Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be the case though in both regards. Just look at the Lib Dem’s parachuting all the former Tory/Lab in elsewhere because they know they’ll lose their existing seats.
I’d love to see the Tories kicked out. Their embarrassing pretence at wanting to deliver Brexit is nothing short of disgraceful. At least the other parties are openly hostile. I’d rather an honest politician who totally opposed my views than a liar. Probably go with the Lib Dem’s

The Tories will do anything to deliver Brexit against the wishes of about half of the population of the UK. That is bad. The Lib Dems would put an agreement together but then stop Brexit against the wishes of about half of the population of the UK. Is that good?

Wouldn't be surprised if he's been told he can't have a national radio show while campaigning to be an MP. If he doesn't run he can keep getting paid to put out what are essentially party political broadcasts and doesn't have the embarrassment of losing another election.

It's pretty blatant. The fracking 'ban' that when you scratch beneath the surface is temporary, the temporary operations unit to prevent the NHS crisis worsening before the election etc etc.
I'd like to say surely people aren't that gullible but after the last few years I'm not so sure.

They have taken away the machinery as the licence didn't have long to run near me. But they will try again elsewhere. A way of being self sufficient on fuel. Tory seats up in Scotland are now up for grabs, probably more than before. It's not the case of Scotland wishing to leave or not, but the right to choose so if it wishes.
After the EU referendum where 62% - 38% of Scottish people wanted to remain in the EU. The argument for another Scottish Independence referendum had been settled up here because of this.

I fully expect this election to result in a second independence referendum and I fully expect them to vote yes this time. However they need to remember for them to become EU members they won't get the options and vetos they enjoy now. The Euro will be a prerequisite. But at least we won't have the "I think you'll find that's legal tender" anymore.
At least Britain will be out of the EU though, but just because Britain doesn't exist anymore.

If Scotland is taken out of the EU against their wishes they should get the choice on independence if it means they can choose to remain in the EU. The last referendum on leaving the EU should have been the last one. But things have seriously changed since.

Im going to be on my own here, but as long as they get elected I don’t really care where people come from. You can’t whine about the quality of politicians one minute then demand they’re selected on grounds other than competence the next.

I'd agree to an extent, but you're more likely to care about local issues if you have some kind of investment in the area. If a seat's more of a career move for a punt at shadow cabinet / cabinet, you're less likely to give a toss about old Molly Mustaphason tripping over the paving outside her house.

Well that’s a different discussion. But at least we’re having a conversation about competence rather than whether they were living somewhere before taking a job mostly in London.
I do think there’s a case for a two tier system of front bench MPs with national responsibilities and others with local. Are the people of Uxbridge really getting a decent local MP right now?
Ideally I’d have Parliament elected proportionately on a national vote and something like a chamber of council leaders as well. Get some scrutiny on local politics as well as proper power and allow us to vote for a party nationally which is what most people do anyway.
