I was going to give this a bash but I've not heard one good word about it. Sounds like the BBC have really screwed up with it.

I saw the description and thought it was going to be great but just kept getting bored of it.

Last week's episode was a bit of a disappointment I felt, but I think this final episode tonight was excellent.

I see there is talk of a season 2.

Bring it on.
I watched the final episode last night - was abit disappointed with how it ended.

left a few unanswered questions as well

Did anyone bother with Top Boy? On the last couple of episodes of the last series now.

Any other good ones on Netflix at the minute for when I finish?

Watched this last night, that's madness!

Every doc including the US justice system is frightening !!!

think I’ve mentioned Operation Odessa on Netflix before, similar style (amusing) but about drugs cheats in baseball, Screwball

Jack Ryan, season 2.

Only on the first episode, but I think it is an improvement. John Kranski is more confident in the role and it seems slicker and more entertaining and it feels more like a Jason Bourne type venture.

I couldn't buy into the Jack Ryan of the first season at all and thought Kranski struggled in the role.

This one is slicker. Well, so far anyway.

Saw a trailer last night for a new War of the Worlds drama on BBC. Looks like it's sticking to the era of the original novel too. Hope it's as good as I think it could be.

Yeah, Mr Mercedes and Castle Rock on there are great.

Have to be a tipping point soon on the amount of platforms people can pay for to watch shows soon though.

Be back to Pirate Bay if gets too silly.
And AppleTV have just launched too. There has to be a breaking point.

I just have Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Not sure about His Dark Materials yet - I'm no lover of fantasy or children's books but I had read this trilogy because a friend persuaded me and it had some interesting and imaginative ideas and enjoyed it as a book. This first episode seemed full of impressive sets but very little in the way of depth of character building. The dialogue was clunky and so far Ruth Wilson lacks the icy menace I would expect. The Gyptians scene seemed amateurish and the characters masters of overacting. I like the girl playing Lyra though so I'll give it another go. Incredibly annoying the stupid trailer afterwards - we're watching FFS! Don't need BBC spoilers.

I'd never even heard of the books let alone read them but thought it was brilliant. Best thing on the BBC in ages. Wasn't surprised to see a lot of the people involved on the BBC side were also involved in the Eccleston and Tennant years of Doctor Who.

Didn't have an issue with the series trailer, expect that sort of thing these days. As someone who hasn't read the books it didn't really give too much away.

Liked the trailer for War of the Worlds as well, looking forward to that.

Sounds worrying. I had high hopes for this after the disaster of a movie adaptation. Loved the books.

Yes great stories. The film suffered from American involvement and their nervousness about its anti-religious message although I did like Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig's portrayals though.

Maybe I'm being over picky and naturally it is a difficult book to film and capture all its imaginative subtleties.

7.2m for His Dark Materials on the overnights. Thats the highest rated drama premiere on any channel since January 2014.

I know it's been mentioned earlier but this is starting to get really interesting.

I think we are on episode 4 now.

love a comedy.

Comes to something when the best two comedy shows in past couple of years (in my opinion) is Josh and Man Down

Not a lot of good TV comedy around. Just started rewatching The Office yet again.

Few recommendations: Detectorists if you haven’t seen it. Was on BBC 4 but seemed to fly under the radar.

Think What We Do In The Shadows is still on iPlayer.

if you’ve got Netflix Schitts Creek and The Good Place.

Anyone managed to get Disney+ working? Can access the app and sign up for an account with a VPN but it doesn’t seem to accept payment from a card that doesn’t have a US address.

Might have to get The Mandalorian via ‘alternative’ methods.

Liked the good place until it became a typical US programme (goes on too long).

Lost count of the account of US series which were decent and them completely ran out of stream, including the US Office.

"What We Do In The Shadows" - not seen that, will look it up

Is it checking the address matches the card? I know our site doesn’t and it’s not always needed. Maybe try a random US address?

Gutted if it doesn’t work. I was hoping to VPN it. What about the Netherlands version? Maybe because it’s EU it’s work?

I’ve got a US shipping address so used that but it then rejects payment so I assume it’s checking addresses.

Seems crazy to have no legal way to watch something like new Star Wars, they must know that’s going to push people to piracy.

They could even stick just that show on their existing UK service until Disney+ launches here.

Looks like Plan B for me. Guess I’m not leaving the Dutch girl until March 2020 :D
