Another poor side we should - in theory - be beating.

How hasn't Ian Henderson been snapped up by any of the challenging clubs!!! Who cares about age, he scores loads of goals..

Need 3 points here as then have 3 tough games to come after that - Sunderland away, Ipswich 'home' and then Shrewsbury away. 7-9 points from those 12 would be a good return. 9-12 and we're going up!

We do have Rochdale next though, and these teams will play other teams which will give more information.

_______Baka____O'Hare

Subs: Wilson, Drysdale, Mason, Walsh, Kast, Bremang, Hiwula/Bapaga

Assuming Hiwula not fit to play/start. O'Hare is a bit of a left field option. I'd have him possibly playing slightly off Baka rather than directly up front as a striker partner, but closer that a 10.

Picked Westbrooke and Shipley because they seem to have a good understanding.

I've kind of lost track, but isn't McFadzean suspended? If so will be interesting to see if MR sticks with 3 at the back and gives Drysdale a league debut, or changes the team's formation.

Like this, I'd just tell O'Hare he has free reign to roam as he pleases, similar to how we used Bright, let him float around and create as much as possible.

Zain and Shippers have to get forward though to avoid Baka becoming to isolated

When I was doing it i though there was something I'd forgotten.... I think I'd convinced myself that he'd have to miss the cup game I just kind of assumed he'd served he ban

So yeah, Drysdale in and I guess Watson on the bench assuming Williams will still be missing.

Or just go to a back 4 for this game, Dabo, Rose, Hyam, McCallum. still looks strong enough to me

I agree, but the issue we have is the other end. Not sure who I'd play in the 4 midfield if I want two up front.

Could try 4-3-3 I guess with O'Hare, Baka and Shipley in the front three and Walsh, Kelly, Westbrooke behind? Would still go with my original selection I think - less square pegs in round holes.

Given Fadz being suspended think would probably revert to 4-3-3 which has served us pretty well this seson though would prefer two up top.
However I think with injuries/suspensions out strongest side on the day leans more to 4-3-3.

Kelly
Westbrooke
Walsh
Shipley
Baka
O'Hare

Subs: Wilson, Mason, Watson, Dysdale, Eccles, Kastaneer, Bapaga

Excuse my ignorance, but why is McFadz suspended? If he is due a suspension why wasn't it served against Colchester?

Despite the lack of striking options and the McFadz suspension, I’m hoping he sticks to the 3-5-2 formation (or a slight variant as per Colchester) that has been serving us well attacking wise.

Drysdale seems good enough from what I’ve seen, albeit a league fixture will be different to U23’s, friendlies and cup games, but what’s the point in having a basis of good youngsters if we don’t give them a go when the opportunity arises. Plus, while all games are tough, this is Rochdale who aren’t on top form, as opposed to an Ipswich.

The second striker is the bigger issue, as he obviously doesn’t feel Bremang is ready, Kast isn’t a footballer at this point and anyone else would very much be a midfielder playing out of position up front. Unless of course Hiwula is fit.....

Assuming worst case scenario and he isn’t, I would agree with the posters above and play O’Hare just off Baka - essentially a free role relieved of defensive duties (as per a striker) but with the option to drop into the space between their defence and midfield, as opposed to playing alongside Baka. It would require the midfield two either side of Kelly to support high up the pitch though. I really like Walsh and thing he’s a very good footballer but based on the previous game you can’t really drop Shipley or Westbrooke, therefore:

Marosi
Rose Drysdale Hyam
Dabo Westbrooke Kelly Shipley McCallum
O’Hare
Bakayoko

2-0 City, Bakayoko and Shipley.

Strange that McFadz didn't sit out the game Saturday... Was Drysdale good?? Seen some great reviews about him

I'll ask yet again as I seem to before every game.... @Nick Will there be a Sky Blues Talk Bookies thing? I suppose not, but we wait with breath held!

I think he might go 4-3-3.

Dabo
Rose
Hyam
Mcallum
Zain
Kelly
Walsh
O-Hare
Baka
Shipley

Shipley CM in place of Walsh if Hiwula is fit.

More thinking the 3-5-2 as Hiwula will be fit for Saturday

I don't think he will start Drysdale and so we will only have 2 first team CB's
