No still living up north

I don't know tbh, had a bit of a headache last night but could be anything. Not finding it as hard as I thought in terms of missing carbs it's just a faff. Didn't weigh myself at the start either ffs. I'm going to break it next weekend anyway as I'm going Primal Scream

Yeah it's a pain in the arse preparing food.

I found bulletproof coffees helped loads in the morning as well.

Trying Keto at the worst time of year to make a net loss compared with 1st Jan
Good luck. I tried and failed. It was the lethargy that affected me. If I'd stuck it out I would have got past that stage and you're supposed to feel great.
Might give it another bash after Christmas. Trouble is, if you break the ketosis, you have to start all over again to get back into it.

Yeah once you get past it you have loads of energy.

I found MCT oil in the coffee helped as well.

I've failed miserably this year. No point now before christmas, so 2020 is the year, could do with shedding 1 1/2 stone.

I feel fine at the minute but I think that's more from knocking beer on the head than anything else. I've got a young child so not sure I know what lethargy isn't

Giving up the beer is what I'd struggle with. I'm not a big spirits fan.

The Keto diet is more hassle than it's worth unless you stay on it permanently because once you eat or drink those delicious carbs you'll instantly put on about 1/2 a stone in water weight and your body will be kicked out of ketosis.

I tried it for a few months but it just wasn't sustainable and I was miserable deep down. I tried to make out as if I was enjoying eating a breadless sandwich but I was dying inside.

Maybe that's just me though. I seem to function well on lots of carbs but I know some folks don't. I couldn't work out in ketosis. I almost fainted trying to squeeze out a fart so anything strenuous was off the table.

I’m running the London Marathon in April for charity, and for some unknown reason since I found out a had a place in October my activity levels (football, gym, running) decreased and socialising increased (lots of food and beer!).

However, now Christmas and NY are done, I’m starting my training properly. My main worry is the boredom as it’s a long time to be running, so for now I’m focusing my training on longevity as opposed to miles, to try and get my body and mind used to it. I ran for an hour on Sunday and managed just over 6 miles which I was really pleased with.

I also played football on Monday night, however I failed to wake up for the gym this morning which is a little disappointing. However I’m aiming for another long (ish) run tomorrow!

While the main aim is to raise money for a charity linked to my Mum, I’m hoping a bi-product will by increased fitness levels and the disappearance of the horrible beer tyre I’ve gained the last few months!!

I hadn’t even remembered posting this thread earlier in the year - and it’s actually quite depressing...

I trained and completed the marathon and was the fittest I’d been in years and was starting to loss the beer tyre!

However since then, I’ve done very very little. I gave myself a break post marathon and never really got going again, then my partner had our first born and it’s been even harder to get going again.

With Christmas coming up and the inevitable stream of social events over the next few weeks I’m going to start a fresh in January. I’m tempted to have a break from beer for a bit and that’s definitely the reason for the belly fat I seem to have acquired. Not necessarily completely, but definitely cutting down on the social pints in the week when seeing friends/work/meals out as it all adds up.

Tbh I have found it has reduced my appetite ready for intermittent fasting again so that's probably my fallback position

Just to add to the chorus of “shit years”. Been down the last few months and eating is my comfort, smashing the Maccys by work a ridiculous amount and eating pure shit for ages. Weight has piled back on, so much that I was about to outgrow my work trousers that were hanging off me. Luckily work changed their dress code and now I can wear jeans :p

Trying to get back on it again but Christmas coming I’ll fall off again in a month.

But yeah, shit year. Need to do better next one. 18 months until I’m 40 and I want to be at target weight by then.

Been to the gym 3 days in a row I’m doing half an hour on the cross trainer increased the levels from 2 to 5 . Exercise bike for 20 minutes
Swim for 20 minutes then run in the spot in the pool for 10 minutes
Getting there slowly but surely

Still maintaining the keto, not had keto flu as yet and feeling pretty decent. I drink a lot of water anyway and try to avoid too many carbs before I started.

Can't wait to get pissed on Sunday though

Are you sticking to spirits when you have a drink?

Not a chance of that mate, this is a little experiment really so not going to wind myself up about it.
Good way of looking at it mate. I found that I had to stop beating myself up if I had a bit lapse. I just enjoy working out now, and I also enjoy eating a bit of shit now and again.

I'm in the same boat.

I'd been going up and down in weight all year but was in pretty decent shape. Then summer came and I went to New York for two weeks, put on two stone and have just carried on being a lazy useless c*nt since.

I'm now 3 stone overweight and I only just realised yesterday how bad I've got when I tried on a coat I wore last winter that now won't zip up.

I know exactly what to do and how to do it but getting back on the horse is the hardest part but I have to stop now because Christmas time is when I'd usually eat and drink like mad and I can't afford to put on anymore.

Still doing Keto, have been eating this way now for about 18 months and it’s fine.
Both me & the Mrs do it strictly but it’s now a very simple way of eating once you get your head around it.
We have both dropped weight and would recommend it to anyone who will listen long enough lol

The only carbs I'm struggling to drop are milk in tea / coffee, but i don't think that's the end of the world.

I love my ales so if i'm drinking i'm having beer, rum and coke is OK but i like variety

If you're going on the piss while on keto be prepared to feel drunk far quicker than usual. I remember going out for a few pints when I was on keto and I was steaming after about 5 pints and the hangover was awful.

The next time I planned a drink I just loaded up on carbs in the morning / afternoon and wrote the whole day off.
