the council shouldn't sell the ricoh to sisu. How would we feel if the council refuse to sell to anyone....even if its coventry supporting owners ?
Does anyone think (like me) the council have got a nice little earner here and intend to keep it that way...no matter who takes over?

I think that at the moment, they maybe using the fact that SISU are unpopular to their advantage. Never say never, though...

I think if new owners came in and proved themselves to have the clubs best interests at heart they would not veto half the ground going to allow sustainability. Any new owners worth their grain would demand this in any contract

Isn't the Ricoh share that CCFC have an option on to buy owned by the Higgs Trust ?
Cov Council would retain the other 50% but with a "Golden Share", that Golden share in my opinion is the blessing that has stopped SISU from doing even more damage.

So, to answer your question, NO, to the Council, it wouldn't matter who owned the other half of the Ricoh as long as they acted responsibly.

I think we should all be grateful the council may help to force these arseholes out
Yes i agree, but i take you back to my original question. What if they refuse to sell to anyone ? Coventry supporting owners or arabs, chinese or anyone else who demand that they sell as part of the deal and the council wont play ball?

Politics is all about popularity - I think if our ownership changed for the better then they'd have to sell.

If they refused to sell the Ricoh to a decent owner of our club I would send my wife to them for a visit. If she did their heads in like she does to me they would sell cheaply just to get rid of her.

Nice, see what you did there.

"coventry supporting owners or Arabs, Chinese or anyone...they can't buy the ricoh, but .they will fight till the game is won.."

We do not all agree.

The Council should sell to SISU - then and only then do SISU have something to sell to an interested 3rd party.

You want SISU out then this is, in my opinion, the only way (other than administration / liquidation) without shooting ourselves in the foot.

However everyone assumes administration and no-one gives a second thought to SISU's other option - namely liquidation. SISU can by-pass admin and go straight to liquidation, and then it is good night Vienna and welcome Non-League football. SISU are the main creditor and have the right to do this if they were minded to do so - or cornered like a caged animal.

This is all hypothetical though !!!!!
We all know Sisu can't afford the rent or buy a player so how in the hell are they going to buy a stadium worth millions ?

The council can't even afford to put a zebra crossing by Stoke Heath, the pot is empty they should sell it for the good of the club and the shitty councils bank account.

Didn't the council put up most of the money for the Ricoh?
It should stay in public ownership until the crooks clear out of football
Public ownership of football grounds sounds like a good safeguard against crooks kidnapping the club like MK Dons did to Wimbledon.
