Are you going to ....

a) Pat them on the back and say well done?

or

b) Be a grumpy bastard like me and say 'why couldn't you have coughed up a bit of cash last year when we really really needed it, especially bearing in mind that though we had no money last year, we will now this season we have even less?"


Bottom line is we have much, much less family silver to sell than we did last year, so if they do cough up any cash whatsoever, I for one will not be thanking them for doing so.


Dare say there will be a fair few City fans though coming out and saying "well done."

It's the very basic we should expect isn't it? Don't think we should applaud them for doing the very minimum expected. We weren't even expecting much at all last year in the way of transfers were we, just a few cheap bargains to boost the squad. Wasn't a lot we wanted from them. Just the minimum requirement would have been nice.

wouldn't care either way the only thing i am intrested in is them Fooking off and never coming back !!! and i just can not see them investing anything in the club. Fisher is their puppet and saying he has to get them to agree to funding the club they own is a joke !! they brought the club they dont want to sell it so they should fund it and stop complaing about the rent, loss of earnings and all the other shit!! they got the club and shares they wanted tried to make a killing and fooked it up so they have to live with it i am affraid SISU can not have their cake and eat it !!:jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:

Option C)....No thanks, just see what squad we have and what sort of team we can put out. Then TRY and enjoy the season. I for one just want us to start winning again. I don't care who owns us as long as we can compete.

Agreed. I won't applaud at the time. However, if they got promoted because of the money they'd spent how would you react towards them then? Remember, this is all just theoretical!

Well no, KG, if they gave a bit of cash and AT bought in players that gave us a winning season then it would be AT I be thanking for bringing in those players and not the owners who would have just met the minimum expected from them.

I would celebrate MY CLUBS promotion, i will never forgive them for what they have done to us, it would take a massive change in attitude/support for me to ever say oaky, they fucked up but are trying to put it right. That will not happen we know that. So i will love my club Hate SISU

If they suddenly coughed up a million or 2 for transfers then that's a different matter. Then i would be giving them some credit for finally getting their arses into gear, but we all know that anything AT will get will be peanuts and money from player sales.

We will therefore sell good players to bring worse quality in.

If they got us to the prem I would give them credit. However if we come back up next year all they've done is take us back where they found us.

Fully agree with you Otis.

Like Sub though, I'd take them selling the club over any other scenario. They're not football people and with them at the helm I see no real progress.

Agreed. I only gave the scenario to see what the reaction would be. I just want this club to be in the top flight again but it's impossible to see how that's going to happen!

two way perspective on this Otis. Yes they have been abismal on the funding front but yes they have made significant strides to get the budgeting under control and have succeeded to a large degree (even though we hate it when players had to go and maybe more too) and will be in a stronger position in league 1 for it. That we may all be thanking them for having such hind sight remains to be seen but a couple of million now will go a long way and dare I say largely out strip investment from the majority of our competitors in league 1.
They need to recognise and grow from the bottom up here and the seeds for that have been planted.
Everyone believes any other 'owner' would be preferable but I caution every one to just keep a cool head and base your argument relative to the present facts and what is being done withing the clubs capability as we stand.

What's not clear to me is even if SISU have the money to spend are they able to do it within the constraints of the League 1 fair play rules, which I believe are already in place ? Any spending they authorise will be within the turnover they've estimated for League 1 and will predominantly be on wages. So don't expect to see large transfer fees being paid relative to the norms of the division.

Incidentally, even if a takeover goes through, these constraints will be the same for the new owner, though one advantage could be increased ticket sales if it does happen.

Exactly and we are in a very good position to be very effective because of it not despite it.

Just looked into this further and the fair play rules in League 1 are based on a salary cap of 65% of turnover for next season, otherwise a transfer embargo is imposed. Basing my calculations on gate receipts alone (I accept there is other commercial revenue) and an average attendance of 12k and £15 per ticket, this means a turnover of just over £4m. To run a squad of 25 players, the average pay at the club would need to be 2k per week, still a healthy average in league 1 even excluding other revenue streams.

Apparently oon a previous thread the average wage in league one is 1400 a week ish,our kids won't be on that so its looks ok on the wage front however its the rent that's the problem they need to pay it and keep on top of it

End of the day the havent done what was expected of them. As owners they promised funds, we are still waiting...

There is no way any cov fan is going to like them even if they do provide funds now because we are relagated, it would be helpful now but we really needed it last season.

Type into youtube coventry sisu protests, they can't ignore this.

Given that we are being relegated into a league with ffp rules, there may be some leaway to allow for Teams with players on existing contracts?

For example, if we can't sell the players who are the bigger earners, it might mean that we can't recruit sufficient players on lower wages, such that we comply to the rules. We cannot cancel contracts that have time to run, if the player either can't be sold or does not want to move. Does anyone know how this is catered for?
