Probably because we were 2-0 up.

If we were 2-0 down it would have been different as people would have been pissed off.

You need to use context of people's comments.

There was little negativity before we were 0-2 up. Even after conceeding a goal, there was a lot less “her we go” etc than normal matches

Of course.its outstanding. How any ccfc fan can’t get on this bus amazes me. Noticed a change in attitude on this thread tonight. Very little negatively. Let’s hope we have turned a tide with some fans.
You’ve got be a pretty boring person and a pretty shit/dishonest football fan if you’re constantly blindly optimistic regardless of what’s happening in front of you.

I’ll call a spade a spade...if a player is preventing us from getting results (which is even more frustrating when almost everyone else is smashing it) then it should be called out. If robins isn’t doing something right then that should be called out too. I see no issues with at all. Weird that a few people, you included, seem to get butt hurt by any kind of criticism.

Got to say Oggy has ben a great addition to CWR him and Eakin are a good combo
He's been great, brings genuine insight and it's obvious from his understanding of the game that he's fresh from working in football. Unlike certain other summarisers...

The problem is that some posters, yourself included, react in a knee jerk way to a few poor results. The circumstances of those poor results, sometimes the performances, are not taken into consideration. The bigger picture is forgotten in the disappointment of defeat. At the risk of sounding like an old fogey (which I am), some football fans nowadays want instant success. If that doesn’t happen then the need is to get rid and start again. If the club had done what you wanted and in fairness,a few others on here, then we wouldn’t be having the relative success we are enjoying now. It must cost clubs a fortune to pay off discarded managers and staff. You would think that the board of a club would go to the extreme to make sure that they have the right man for the job, that he fits in with the plan. Having appointed him, surely they would be prepared to back him through the inevitable poor run of results if they are confident that he was the right appointment? Doesn’t seem to be the case.
Robins seemed right for us in his first spell and even more so now. I like the way he wants his teams to play football which, when it works, is excellent to watch. He has a plan, a way forward for this club. He is not carried away by a few wins and he is not in despair over a few defeats. He is able to change things around and we are not stuck with only a plan A. (We’ve used at least three formations this season). He can also be fairly ruthless with his players. Doyle, Grimmer, McDonald served him well in the promotion season but were replaced fairly quickly by players he thought were better.
I hope that when we do hit a bad patch that there is a bit more perspective from some people and that the first reaction isn’t that Robins needs to go.

Oh I really hope you are great at your job and there are 11 people trying their best to stop you doing it well.
When you criticize for the sake of it and somehow glory in it and wear it as a badge of honor I really do think that you you need to look up the word supporter up in the dictionary and it will reveal its true meaning to you.

Respectfully mate i'd disagree with/question quite a few parts of this. Appreciate the genuine effort to debate though.

I disagree here - but happy for you to pull some specific examples of this. A random example - if we are absolutely dominating games in the midfield and are solid at the back but Godden is stuck up top on his own in between two absolute bisons of centre halves and can't get a sniff of the ball, then that needs fixing and trying something else formation wise. Great that the rest of it is working but we won't win games like that. When Robin's refuses to change things like that it really pisses me off. Patience is one thing but blind stubbornness is another thing entirely.

Should we have continued with Russell Slade?
Regarding the first part about "if we'd done what you wanted" - It might sound weird but Robins in some ways is lucky he got injuries in that promotion season that forced him to change to 4-4-2. He changed it, it worked.
As a striker it is odd that his preference is to isolate players up top when it's obvious it doesn't often work at this level. I don't doubt Robins has the best intentions for this club, I don't doubt that he has a vision and that things around the club in general have improved on the whole since he has been here. That doesn't mean his stubbornness doesn't piss me off and I'm not going to hide that. It's good to great isn't it...and I want great! I'd echo what Esoterica said last week about sometimes feeling that Robins is probably more suited to a technical director role than a manager and have someone else in for that.
He is able to change things around and we are not stuck with only a plan A. (We’ve used at least three formations this season).
Wouldn't agree, as per above.

He can also be fairly ruthless with his players. Doyle, Grimmer, McDonald served him well in the promotion season but were replaced fairly quickly by players he thought were better.
Agree somewhat, but the other side of that coin is that sometimes he just seems to have a problem with certain players and they get frozen out never to be seen again. But whatever.

The bottom line is that our team (thanks to Robins, yes) is the most competitive it's been in years and has the best chance of returning to the level that we probably belong. We were all absolutely gutted when Mowbray got close then fucked it up so people are so hopeful that it happens that they/we are going to call it out when things are stopping it and need changing. If history is anything to go by then our squad is possibly going to look completely different next year, so this is our chance and we take it now. If Hiwula fluffing chances and McFadzean with his moments of pure idiocy might jeopardize that then im going to call it out.

Just like when liam walsh scores a screamer it's on my instagram story and I won't shut the fuck up about it to people either. I'm just more likely out at the pub on the guiness cause im in a good mood :)

What you call stubbornness I would say is having the patience and the resilience to see things through. This season started with only one forward up front. We were playing well, not losing games and at one point during this spell topped the league. We were not scoring a bag full of goals but the system was working. This was a system, no doubt worked on in the summer, with the expectation of Allen, Jobello, possibly Kastaneer and a new forward (who turned out to be Godden, being part of the team. Kastaneer and Allen were injured pre-season but the system worked pretty well. With the absence of Jobello and Godden, the system did look laboured and he changed to 5 at the back and two strikers. He did this at half time against Fleetwood. Since then we have had the box midfield when Baka was the only available forward. To me that’s three definable systems he has used in half a season used to meet the strengths of the players available. If you read the match threads, people are often screaming for system or personnel changes 10 minutes into a game. what you see as a weakness, I see as a strength. He is backing his own judgement on systems and players and giving them a chance.

On the whole I think that managers should be given more time to do their job and to turn things around, particularly if due diligence has been done on them before they are appointed. There are exceptions though and Russell Slade would be one of these. His appointment was probably a knee jerk reaction without proper investigation in to what he would bring to the club. As it was his short reign saw a losing team playing awful football, something that Robins had corrected within 4 gamesof taking over. Had Robins had that team from the start, statistics show we wouldn’t have gone down. Instead of blaming Slade you would have to ask why it was thought a good idea to appoint him.

Talking of statistics, Robins, in terms of his win rate remains one of the best managers we have ever had (yes I know others were operating at higher levels, doesn’t alter the fact though). He turned around a team which for 75% of the season under three previous managers were dire, and turned them into Wembley winners. With a virtual new team the following season he gained our first promotion for 50 years. Despite working for Sisu, in my view by far the worst owners we have ever had,(I know you won’t agree) and despite this season playing every game away from home, he continues to produce relatively successful, entertaining (yes, frustrating, as they don’t get the goals and the wins that they deserve) teams.
Despite all of this a fair number on here at various time over the past two and a half years have wanted him to be given the boot and for us to go back to the lottery of the last eleven years, with managers appointed and managers ditched. I genuinely don’t get it.

We have a guy who has surely earned trust and respect for what he has achieved. Certainly for me in my 53 years of supporting City he has given me some of the best moments in all of that time with the games against Oxford, Exeter and best of all, Notts County as stand out occasions. I think there are more of those to come particularly if we can get back to Coventry ASAP and so long as he is given time.

When hiwula got injured and he had no choice! It’s not a difficult difference to understand. The only times he has changed a system are because he is forced to via injury.

Who isn’t respecting robins? Fuck sake calling someone out for a lack of required tactical changes or (in the past) puzzling changes or selections is okay I don’t see why people get so upset about it.

could you also give me a quote or example of someone screaming for personnel changed 10 minutes into the match?

Apart from when it was Biamou in the League 2 season and you'd remind us on every match thread how many games it was without him scoring.

After a cracking performance all round last night, does that validate our credentials as a credible threat in this League?
We hear lots of other fans moaning "we should be be beating teams like Coventry", so how many managers will start thinking hang on, Coventry have played Ipswich 3 times and not been beaten by them,
they could be better than we think.
I know Ainsworth was bemoaning on Quest last week, they've played us 11 times and never won!!! We will be in the mix come May I'm sure of it PUSB

We lost to Wycombe in the League Cup when we were a Premier League side. Not as if it that will have any bearing on the result in a League One match over 25 years on though.
