The striker we really should have gone for in the summer, can’t see why we didn’t!

Was banging them in for Leamington which is local to us, can’t see how Robins and our recruitment team didn’t spot him! Imagine how many of the chances he’d of put away from some of our missed ones this season

Poor tbh that we didn’t sign this guy being so local but then again I’ve lost pretty much all confidence in who finds us our strikers,

anyway wouldn’t matter our coaching with strikers he prob be on loan at Nuneaton by now left isolated or asked to play outwide

Godden has scored 96 goals in the last 5 years.
JCH has scored 21 in 35 since leaving us.
Chaplin has 6 in his last 6 games in the Championship.

Maybe it's not that our recruitment team can't spot a striker. Maybe we don't play in a way that enables them to be effective.

Have said this for ages. Our formation is far too conservative. Hiwula will probably score goals played in a front two elsewhere.

The staff surely must be discussing this players struggling moving on & doing well in a different set up

I presume they would have been aware of him and went to see him play. We can’t sign every player and lets be honest if we had signed a player from Leamington to lead our line the knives would be out for Robins

In an interview he said that they scouted him, were aware of.him but he's not a player that likes to play how we want to play and didn't want another jch to happen.

It's always a gamble going. From r a new n league player

Fair enough he's scored somengoals but could've quite easily gone the opposite way! (

Which strikers havw flourished under robins at cov? Mcgoldrick and mcnulty? Both had ability to create something out of nothing

Robins needs to tweak tactics to provide more help to any strikers who sre not of same individual quality

If that’s the case you’d have to question how some of the players we’ve signed got flagged up

Think we’d have been buzzing to get bishop and offload baka tbh if that happened haha, oh well guess it’s one of them that got away

Mark McNulty, George Thomas?

Both of those definitely made the wrong move. McNulty has had a good spell since leaving us, at Hibs, which got him into the Scotland squad.

You wonder where Thomas would be now if he'd stayed. Maybe he wasn't good enough for us anyway, he was in the team that were relegated. I think he'd be in a better place in hiss career than he is now, but probably with less money in his pocket.

Tbf he's done well, but I've seen him a couple of times and he's surprised me as I didn't think hed step up to this level. A couple of pens in the total and stoll looks like he needs to get a bit fitter but fair play. I did however also think he was poor v us in the league and in the pre season friendly.

Robins has done a brilliant job but it does concern me that we only ever win games by 1 goal. The top six in this league normally have a very positive goal difference, and have the ability to hammer a few sides. Our squad at the minute has so many options but Robins caution holds us back I think. We remind me of how we were under Coleman at the minute. We never get the 2nd goal when we are 1-0 up and drop so deep it put such pressure on the defence. Robins has to find a way to be braver and stretch teams more.

It’s the team set-up nothing else, this basically one up top isn’t working and yes we have missed good chances but teams we should be beating easily cope fairly well with our strike force, if it was left to me in January i’d Bring in a strike partner for Godden/ Biamou and a winger with pace to stretch opponents back four.

we were playing a different style at the time, fit into our vision, particularly last when halfway through we focused on play in the attacking half, which players like
agogo, brown, jch just couldn't deal with.

Jch was signed in league 2 when max biamou got an injury so they wanted a backup no 9, because we were playing that at the time.

You'll barely see a time when the signing makes no sense at the time, it's not f*cking fifa a career mode!

1 upfront at Ipswich meant he kept faith at Shrewsbury which he likes to do reward players to keep the shirt fair enough half time we needed to go 2 up front I think we all could see where the game was heading im baffled to how Allen, kelly & Walsh struggled in that midfield against them too many players just didn’t perform yesterday add to that a manager who is stubborn to change it that’s the end result forget autos we will be lucky to make play offs the form is getting worse we cannot win away and struggle to beat teams by more than 1 goal we must go 2 up front he’s got Godden & max fit now fucking play them together & stop fucking about get a settled side and stick with it,drop O’Hare out bring mason back in with Westbrooke

I thought he was very good in the pre season game in fact I’m sure I commented on the thread saying exactly that. No guarantee he’d have hit the ground running for us and on paper, Godden was a better signing

I think Godden had the look of a panic signing although I was happy with him coming in I just want to see Godden & Biamou play together tbh

Although they've obviously got much better players (but are playing against better ones too) the likes of Liverpool and Man City don't sit back - they keep their foot on the throat and carry on trying to score more. They don't give teams much of an opportunity to get back into games they're dominating.

Ferguson also did similar at Man U and since he left they've had managers who are more afraid and are willing to soak up pressure and they've gone backwards.

I'm not saying go all out attack I'm saying let's keep more people up the field or in positions to break rather than just bunker down so the ball just ends up coming back at us.

I watched him all last season, he was okay but never thought we should go for him.. he also has recently done his ACL, think we have enough of those don't you?

The one to look at may be Josh March who’s scored a hat trick tonight in the FA Trophy against Telford, came from Alvechurch in the summer and scored 14 already in the league. 20 in all comps
