We both know that to be untrue.

Nope I’ve put several points across about the concerns I have with Robins. You’d have been the same dribbling over Mowbray when he had to get the sack in the January

Exactly - it’s the refusal to accept this that frustrates

No one is saying we are the finished article.
Most people can see that the team has a few flaws. And sometimes we need to change tactics in match situations.
Most people can also see the potential this side has and what Robins has accomplished so far.
The only real point of disagreement is your 'warming up the taxi for Robins' conclusion in your first post on this. Nothing else.

And as you know I've debated and made several points from the other side of this debate - beyond calling you a Moron. As for your Mowbray point - WTF. You have finally gone crazy by throwing in that kind of nonsense to distract,

Well I don’t think he’s capable of getting promotion at this level

He’s Ian Botham in the 1992 World Cup. A golden arm and a capacity to over achieve to a point but ultimately the house of cards falls down

The Mowbray reference was why I made the thread and titled it as I did

Maybe a better way of phrasing the question is

'Has he taken us as far as he can?'

But you've completely made up how I felt about Mowbray at a particular point in time?

I think your point as suspected is that Mowbray should have been fired in January (obviously anyone can be clever after the event) and given that Robins should also be fired now? That's ok. It's all opinions. I just violently disagree!!

And The Cracks are Beggining to Show

This was my first post on the Mowbray decline and it got a lot more direct a few weeks later

Answer: I believe he will take us further and given the fact that he has advanced the team every day since his return I am certainly prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. We've seen the damage caused by changing managers and changing now would simply be madness.

Mowbray should have been sacked in January, a fact I stated at the time. No one is calling for Robins to be sacked. Grendel is simply pointing out some faults he has, which we all recognise. Grendel is also right that if these faults aren’t rectified, we will not go up and Robins’ position will become under threat.

So you are actually dialling up the mythical taxi Grendel?

The taxi is an expression conjured up by David Lloyd which I used on a thread previously

I don’t think Robins has it in him to achieve at this level. I think we’ve scraped through a lot of games. I’ve stated many times I think we have a squad that is better than previous seasons at this level and I think players like Godden would be performing better if we had a different approach

Again Robins has a golden arm but I cannot see how that’s going to last through to the end of this season

He wasn't saying that. He was saying 'let's get the taxi warmed up now.' Admittedly he may have retracted that view over the past few days.

Spot on edit it does not mean we hate CCFC or anyone on the forum

Exactly so he is saying that the next month will be crucial as to whether Robins will learn, or if the wheels will fall off. At this point, the taxi will be outside or it will have remained at the rank

I agree changing now would make little sense. But let's suppose we have another 20 odd games of the same mistakes being made, the same patterns in games, the same post match comments-at what point do we decide that enough is enough?

Do you agree Harvey and Danny Thomas and below this should mean dismissal?

I’d say below 6th myself

Different views and opinions Grendel on this.
Personally I think even 8th would represent significant progress year over year - combined with a pleasing style of football and a much improved squad.
Add in the circumstances of playing in Birmingham and I would have taken 8th at the start of the season for sure.
Add in also Robins proven record of continuously evolving and improving the squad - I'd be pretty confident for the next season in the circumstance of finishing 8th.
So in short - I would not be changing Robins if we finished 8th!

It’s progress in very trying circumstances I think that’s harsh
What trying circumstances? Robins has been pretty positive about St Andrews, make no mistake it is nothing like the Sixfields season where at this date we'd have been on 35 points with a GD +6 if not for the deduction, having played the same games but scored 44 goals compared with a paltry 26 this time. We had players like Billy Daniels in the first 16, Andy Webster....

I hear you Brighton Sky Blue. But I think in the bigger picture it's very difficult to argue against Robins' ability to transform and improve the team season after season.

The point is to be careful what you wish for. Anyone coming it may do a lot worse under the same circumstances and might not even have us playing the good football.

So getting rid of Bright, Clarke Harris, Willis, Chaplin - freezing out last seasons top scorer is improving the team - wow

People used to say Thorne played good football. The only good football is winning football

So you can guarantee any replacement would play winning football? Or at the very least an improvement on where we currently are?

There was no guarantee that sacking Pressley, Strachan or Coleman would? I don’t see your point
