Was just reading an old article about the changes at station which said it was delayed and would now all open in 2017! When was the original opening date? How can you run so many years over on a project and get the budget so wrong?

So the upgrade to get loads of trains running isn't happening now either.

Big shame. I always said that a proper service on that would be a game changer for fans. Similar to Brighton. Drink in the city and then get the train at 2:30.

Latest on Coventry Railway Station masterplan

Looks like thats it for any plans to enable more trains to the Ricoh. Reading the article it sounds like CCC got their budgets completely wrong and couldn't get anyone to tender at anything like the amount they'd allocated to the project.

Seems the budget for phase 3, the extra platform that would have allowed more trains to the Ricoh, will now be used to top up the shortfall in the works currently in progress.
