Police will no doubt have helped this along. Will cause an issue for trains from Sunderland no doubt.

Just seen it mentioned that the earliest Sunderland to New Street train gets in 20 minutes into the game

This is shit. Nobody benefits from this. Fans hate it and the money the club gets barely covers the lost ticketing revenue.

Have to agree. 3pm on Saturdays for me.

normally agree, but anything that potentially reduces the away support, (though to be fair to the Mackems they seem to travel in numbers whatever), is OK with me.
Having the crowd an almost 50/50 split on Saturday is one thing but against this mob it would just be depressing.

Surely after the trouble last year they wouldn't get what they wanted.

I understand it is annoying for some folks, it'll also be more convenient for others. Unfortunately with sky etc we live in an age now where if we were to ever reach the Championship or more specifically the Premier League, we would have to expect probably 1/4 games wouldn't be Saturday 3pm. More to the point, I have no idea how the guy/girl who runs our Social Media account has his/her sanity with how many replies they've had basically blaming them as if it is remotely their fault. Society is regressing.

True enough. I am more than happy on this occasion for an away support to be restricted.

Doubt any of them would be getting the train anyway, £90-£125 for a return ticket with about 3 changes. May as well drive and get a hotel in Brum for the night or get the coach.

I've seen a few moaning that they've got train tickets that are now useless (anyone know if Otis has any relatives in the north east?). You'll have people who can't drive too so other than coach it'll be their only option if they can't find someone to give them a lift

better days

There is Prem games on that weekend though.
The Premier League games usually kick off later - the earliest PL KO on that date is 2pm
So one of the channels stay with the EFL game for the post match analysis (guff) and the other switches across immediately to the PL game coverage

When there are no Premier League games Sky normally show the EFL games on two or more of their channels
Cool I don’t think prem games start till later that day. I was planning on going to this but can’t now so hopefully I can watch it
