If it means robins gets the money we should deal at a certain price we have mason to play left back more than good enough could even get a young striker on loan from the club this could finance a promotion push

I’m not moaning at the club having to sell players, i’m just worried it will be the inevitable sell and not replace. He needs some of the money to reinvest, even if it’s a fraction just to push us over the line.

Every club at our level has to sell players to survive, but our situation is different. We have cut the wage bill and i assume other costs too.
We have one problem other teams don't have and that is playing at a ground that we don't want to be in out of our City.
If supporters don't turn up then we have to sell more urgently than if they did.
If supporters don't turn up we sell our best prospect for 1.5-2 million as we need all that money just to keep us going, if supporters turn up then if we sell the same player add 500k + to that figure.
Also if supporters don't turn up running costs swallow all that up, if supporters do turn up maybe we have half to spend on new player(s).

It's easy really, the club we all love and support (i assume you all do, or why are you on here), need funds to survive. Go and watch them if you can can they have more funds to survive and maybe get promotion, don't go and they need to sell to balance the books. No blame aimed at anyone, you're not stupid and you all know this, but if you don't go then don't complain when we sell a player(s) below value.

Agree he is not.

Just wish some fans were realistic. We are a League One club playing tenants in a city 20 miles away. We have to balance the books somehow.

However any less than £2m then it's disappointing. I would keep until the summer. We go up then his value doubles. We stay down then sell for £2m.

There is no such thing as FFP in league one.

there is SCMP which is similar; but money input by owners is 100% exempt as long as there is no contractual agreement for repayment of that money.

And who would I buy? No idea, I’m not the manager. I’d rather he didn’t go, we aren’t conceding and don’t lose many games at all, but then we don’t score too many either so you’d have to look at Mason coming in and someone somehow to provide more goals, which might not necessarily be a striker but could be a provider. Not easy to find or come by.

Yep, another good example. We had to sell, they got him for nothing. Don’t underestimate the power of the player to force a move as well which makes your hand even weaker.

Haha!!! i wish i was.
I said "this is what could happen" and they could. The players are doing well now so a good 5 mill if not more in transfer fees could be theirs.
They will never get back what they put in unless we get back to the Premier League (not Premiership (Premiership is Rugby, URRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!! i feel dirty now as it's the insects league)).

The only prob is what i said earlier, they are still paying the short fall each season, so if they lose the legal action and we don't look like going up and they have to increase their contributions they "could" call quits on it (i don't think they will).

I’ve got to say, I think there are a lot of people on this forum underestimating just how good McCallum is already. I don’t know about what price he would or should go for, and I was disappointed when Mason was originally dropped for him, but he’s proved me wrong and been fantastic. I think we would miss him more than most realise.

For me It'd be Walsh in a permanent deal, reckon he could step up to championship level given more game time and experience.

If we still had a bit of cash, then a striker.

From what I’ve seen of McCallum he’s a real talent but I also think there’s some room for improvement. MR may think the same and try to convince ownership that patience may payoff with a more significant fee down the road.

Obviously it’s a tough one because we also need to offset the losses of playing in Birmingham.

Good point, but my only criticism of Robins (only lately) is the reluctance to play 2 strikers up front, as we have dominated games when we have done!

So my point is, I don't think we need to buy another striker as a priority, as we have a couple in Baka , Biamou and hiwula, utilise them!

Problem with godden is unless those 2 midfield players are on their game he suffers maybe we need to get O’Hare a run in the team,I’m surprised Allen is not getting a sniff how much he was raved about
