If its £3.5mill with a decent sell on % and add ons, then decent bit of business from the club if it covers losses/gets reinvested.

I don't know if we have to pay a tribunal fee to Herne Bay or have we already paid that when we signed him?

He was probably non contract so no money would have been due

Stevenson wasn't even playing regularly for us at the time. Was an amazing piece of business that one.

Didn't stop the usual frothers from moaning though, most of them didn't even realise he wasn't playing.

I don't get this at all. Do you not think 22 year old Brandon Mason would be a saleable asset? He's not a 30 year old, he's young himself. Robin's has picked who he thinks is the better player.
I think all players are saleable assets, just think McCallum fits the development model better

It was always going to happen.

He has the same agent as Julian Grey so be prepared for another upset.

Also, he joined Jamie Vardy academy, so I imagine that doesn't count? I know it's if a club offers a contract equal or better, you have to pay tribunal.

The V9 academy is just a shop window. He would still have been on the books of Herne Bay. Would be nice for them to get a little slice of it, as much as we need it money from transfers cascading down the football pyramid is important.

Nope, he wasn't on a contract so I don't think they get anything.

I've just been boring the office with my complaining non stop for most of this morning.

I can't really blame any of the parties but it just a shame we can't hold onto these players or get that extra few million. IF we get promoted, his price would double overnight. Otherwise we would get the same in the summer.

He doesn't owe Coventry anything, he's not local and has a chance to multiply his wages.

He's probably checked out, so f*ck him (and seriously fuck SISU), couldn't care less about the loaning him til the summer.

Not sure what it has to do with Sisu. It's just a lazy argument.

Wooooaaaah! Deep breaths. Sam will be playing tomorrow and will probably appreciate and perform better with our support.
Plus we’ve got a load of cash!!! Yes!!! Come on!!!

Its £3 million for a player who cost us nothing from non-league 18 months ago. This is the model we operate. We need money to cover shortfalls from being at Birmingham and to further improve the squad in the summer, whichever league we are in. It's also a position where we have Brandon Mason who would get into pretty much every other team in the league and another young prospect in Joe Newton who is coming through. We've also not lost him until the end of the season and got what is a record fee for a league 1 left back. Yes, its possible he could've been worth more at the end of the season but equally he could have been worth less.

Did you even read my post apart from the last sentence? Everything you've said, I put in my post.

"He doesn't owe Coventry anything" - check
"Multiplied his wages" - check

PSB Group needs dismantling

I did challenge them in their group status and th actually replied saying there was 5 and now there is four - I started calling them the PSB quartet and that ignore button was hit very quickly

Everything and nothing.

Transfers are handled by Robins, the recruitment team and the management. It's their call. Wasn't necessarily aimed at you but all the bitching about Sisu on Twitter every time we sell a player is ridiculous.

Peterborough have lost Marcus Maddison
Oxford have lost Baptiste & Fosu
Etc
Etc

Every team at this level has to operate this way. It's not always because they want to but players and agents hold a lot of power.

It was the Dennis Mortimer sale that gutted me. I’m a bit more rational about things these days!
When he left wrote to the chairman(Iain Jamieson )and explained my feeling because at the time I thought we were at a crssroads with him we could move from being a struggling club to a successful one. .Fair play got a reply saying we would be without him it never happen though.
