Any thoughts on what next can be done after the statement?
Obviously some progress was made with local media attention but it’s now all gone pretty silent
I know there are rumours regarding a return but I don’t really see any substance - it requires a radical change from wasps and there’s no evidence they have made any actual movement yet in that direction at all.
I know some are trying to get the trust to respond on social media but there is radio silence there and actual silence from the radio
I have no radical answers here but as it’s fell off the local agenda is there any ideas on next steps?

I put this ground issue 50/50 between sisu and Wasps needs movement from both imo.

I have been a little ignorant to this issue (life etc) & what has been happening, so apologies.

But seems to me that ignorance remains the issue. Even if you look at Wasps forums they are totally unaware of anything- hardly anyone knows about the indemnity. Pretty much everyone still thinks that its all down to SISU's intransigence and that we're just getting our just desserts.

May seem extreme but If you have a big fire you need a big bucket to put it out- as Magwitch suggests the City of Culture has to be used as a platform. I don't think having loads of negative publicity around what Wasps are doing would sit well with anyone in authority when the eyes of the country are on us- for me its a total farce for Coventry to even be the 'City of Culture' when a London club has forced out a local club and are holding us to ransom. It would be good to make absolutely sure that everyone knows that that while these comedians are celebrating "local culture", an organisation that has been at the heart of "local culture" for 137 years has been royally shafted in favour of an organisation that historically were based in London, and who are busily removing local amenities for local people.

Needs to just bypass the joke of a 'Trust', who are an embarrassment- but we do have the perfect platform just around the corner to make sure that everyone knows what our own council & an outside club have done, right at the very time they are building up to pretending they're "celebrating local culture".

Maybe I'm missing the point but there is a big story here, & one thing I do know for sure is that people in the club & the council read things on here- maybe its time to let them know that this is not going away, and the upcoming biggest advertisement for the city will also be used as an advertisement for the fact that the council don't actually care about "local culture" as much as they'd like the country to believe.

Not sure you'd want to bring it into a match situation, and Sunderland are not exactly going to be sympathetic, whereas making other clubs aware would be a good thing- I think the general idea is good though.

One thing we do know is that although I greatly admire the work done so far, it has not worked in raising awareness, and we also know very clearly that certain people who claim to "represent" the City of Coventry and who claim to "report" on local issues actually don't care. They are liars if they now go around saying they are hyping up local culture, and that needs to be called out. I think it is time to make sure that a much wider audience understands exactly how much they promote local culture when it comes to the football club that bears the city's name, that has been a focal point of the lives of hundreds of thousands of local people for well over a century. Very soon we have a big chance to let a lot of people know what is going on and how the council has turned its back on its football club, while harping on about great local initiatives.

Rupert Lowe and Stuart Linell are coming back to me on whether the Eu complaint can be kicked into the long grass. I think it’s clear it can’t be once it’s been raised. I’m also pretty sure that they think I’ve maybe forgotten it. Stuart has been really helpful with our statement and assisting with getting the club to take the safety issue from the cup game seriously.

Also Phil Upton and Simon Gilbert were pretty clear about wasps throwing us out and that local media shouldn’t make misleading statements and the indemnity clause appears to be quite a sticking point

The main problem here is the non disclosure agreement that means parties aren’t really willing to talk on the record about anything.

One of the parties I’ve spoken to refused permission for me to even say the conversation took place which was made all the more bizarre in that they kept implying certain things and not answering other questions because of the NDA. I understand them thinking who the fuck does he think he is of course.

My own timescale for a public update is the start of March.

Also I’m getting the impression that most on here want to return at the start of next season not before or am I wrong in this?

Maybe by then, the EU complaint will return its findings. I do think we will be at the Ricoh next season,. The real question is how much extra revenue will they allow us to share.

A lot of trust also needs to be built up with people 'in the know'. We are not bound by NDAs, but any potential source would be, and that is not a nice place to be.

If the Commission ruled completely against CCC (their worst case scenario) then promotion wouldn't cover it. It's around 20 million (difference in the amount of 2 valuations) plus interest. Hence the reason SISU, CCFC wouldn't give an indemnity.

He’s a member of the sky blues trust board. Good man who has a long history of supporting the club. Reasonable in his interactions on here. Some think he doesn’t listen and allows the trust to carry on in the same vain but I personally think it’s more nuanced than that. I do think it’s tricky for the trust having been so anti Sisu and even Robins once or twice. Any supporters group or voice needs to not be in the pockets of any of the parties and be able to question all parties independently without fear or favour. That said any ccfc fans group will ultimately want the best for their club and I’m sure that all of us genuinely do want that however we see the owners, wasps or ccc or local media.
