Ah ok I’m sorry I was a little ecstatic after the game

You're opinion is as valid as everyone's
The guy I'm thinking of was an Ian ,not from Shipston . My opinion I feel is less pertinent but I should make it I think .
Your efforts are entirely laudable .respect. :)

Irritated by the phone-in after the game; most of the callers claimed to have been supporters since God was a boy (as if that gives them greater relevance) but none of them were going to the games at SA. They might have an "interest" in CCFC, they might be "fans", but they are clearly not "supporting" in any true sense; the clue is in the word. Obviously some people cannot get to games (due to distance, logistics, health, mobility or affordability reasons), but I didn't hear any of the callers say they were not going for any of these totally understandable reasons. They simply choose not to, and I do not understand CWR giving them air time to moan.

Yep, one of the callers said it was breaking his heart not going to "home" games, but refused to go over to Birmingham until SISU dropped the court action.
This is the type of comment where CWR need to clarify what court action they are referring to, as I think some fans genuinely still think this is still the case

Clive won't correct them.

Spot on, but there's zero chance of CWR wanting to clarify it - it doesn't fit their narrative. They're quite happy to have callers spouting such nonsense without correction or challenge.

It’s also not important as they think ccfc chose to leave rather than carry on talking

People can go, people don't have to go. I honestly couldn't care less.

What surprised me was that about 90% of the callers last night had not been to the game (or any this season). They just used the phone in to boast about how long they supported the team and tried to justify their own stay away reasons.

We just beat an insanely good team at the death and I was absolutely buzzing. By the time I got out of the car I was contemplating calling Samaritans.

I didn’t go to Northampton as Sisu were trying to bankrupt acl and get the Ricoh on the cheap
The thing is mate, after all of those emails that got leaked from the council to wasps pre northampton, I'm not even sure that I disagreed with the Northampton move. The council were clearly not going to renegotiate the lease deal and we were paying 1.2m a year in rent in the third tier of english football, for access to the stadium 23 days a year. Outrageous. They weren't going to renegotiate because they were already dropping their trousers for Wasps. So what should SISU have done? Kept getting milked by the council?

Im not saying they are completely innocent but I personally look at the Northampton situation very differently now too.

Ever considered that the council brought Wasps in because they had a tenant saying they couldn’t afford the rent and needed someone to split it with? The cost of the Ricoh is a lot less with Wasps there.

I know it doesn’t suit the frothing narrative of this place but it makes far more sense than the accepted wisdom of an evil plot to kick CCFC out of Coventry which doesn’t even start to make sense unless you’re a tinfoil hat weirdo with a hard on against the council.

Fact is we had a secure tenancy and we threw it away to gamble on a Hail Mary legal action or distressing a local government. Neither of which were ever going to happen.

.

Why didn't the Council arrange a joint rental agreement between Wasps and CCFC instead of selling to Wasps at a knock down price?

Why didn't they just extend the lease, making it easier to finance for ACL and then meaning that CCFC didn't have to pay millions to keep ACL going?

There were plenty of other options.

I’m close to giving up
- the local media and trust is going to continue misleading
- regardless of what we or they say the stayaways will go or not go, and with CCFC the fans always have reason not to support us.

fact is nothing is happening unless that clause is dropped and SISU stop their appeals

All we’re doing is going round in circles

with all of this going on, I would suggest that MR and the current team have saved this club
Imagine if we were in the bottom 3 in this situation heading back to League 2. Many more would be giving up
At least IF we can get up we will get a lot more attention

Are there two people with access to your account? I only ask as you seen to flip flop on stuff so much. You know for a fact that the council were talking to wasps way before the rent stuff happened and never offered a shared deal. Yes sisu at the time went about it all the wrong way and I personally will never forgive them for the year at Northampton, but to try and absolve the council where there is written proof of what they did in those emails that came out is genuinely concerning

More bullshit from this forum, we were never paying 1.2 million while in the third tier. Sisu were not paying any rent in the seasons leading up to sixfields.

Sisu announced a three year deal to play at sixfields even after being offered to play at the ricoh rent free - Ricoh Arena offered to Coventry rent-free

What level of rent do you believe was set in the original lease should the club be relegated to the third tier?

The 'rent-free' deal only applied while the club was in administration. It was a PR move, nothing more.

The reality is these idiots saying where the stadium Sisu are just deflecting reality and trying to avoid the truth that we can’t return unless another sports club changes strategy

That's made my blood boil.

Got me thinking though. Is it worth sending a copy of the statement in the other thread to the local media outlet/commentary team for each opponent until the end of the season? Or at least a short email offering help to understand the situation to avoid lazy explanations like the one above. I realise they're likely to just go with whatever CWR provide them with but worth a shot?

To be fair Shmmeee, has there been ANY suggestion at ANY point that Lucas and co. contaced Joy and co. and told them if you're struggling, don't worry, we've actively sought out another sporting club and you can split everying down the middle.

Could be a great new policy for the council to combat the housing crisis.

Email sent to Essex sport with our statement. Meant to take out the point about the trust but forgot. Oops

No we can't return because a hedge fund embarked a tour of the UK legal system

And before that the city council approached a London rugby team to play in the stadium and then sold it to them way below it's value... So not really sure what your argument is
