True, very sad indeed!Pressure of social media and all that
She took the decision to step down from presenting Love Island herself, IIRC, which ITV said they completely understood. Is it true that she was dropped from her TV work because of the assault case coming up?
I had a monster crush on Caroline Flack.
What bugs me is a lot of people pointing the finger at media, tabloids especially, are the ones that keep it in business by buying a copy every morning.
I wouldn't touch those rags. Especially as page 3 is a thing of the past.
She had anger and probably all sorts off other attention seeking issues.... but ffs she needed help and support not a witch huntCaroline Flack. Seemed to be having a few issues.
Quite sad really, taken her own life.
As someone who left/escaped a violent relationship and through help and support sees that woman blossom into a better person through professional help .... I deplore the treatment this woman had at the hands of the press.
One of the things I've noticed from being an expat is this inexplicable UK obsession with all things celebrity. Eg. Never seen any of these "reality" shows but am always confused by how there are so many of these " celebrities" in the press who have no discernible talent. She was treated badly but unfortunately it's a business that's predicated on the publics' thirst for celebrity train wrecks and unless people stop buying / clicking this shit it'll never change.
Some very well educated people in the media are deliberately distorting celebrities lives and feeding them to an uneducated audience who lap it up and they are as much to blame the press.
Then there's the whole cancel culture that goes hand in hand with it, which is usually the celeb obsessed arseholes feeding the media "stories" in a reversal of the usual pattern.
It's a toxic cycle ingrained in our society.
