What is it about us getting cut out of the story of the development of our players? I remember when Wilson went it was all about “From Tamworth to the Prem”
Such is the cyclical nature of football. Who knows, in 5 years (or even 2!) we might have swapped places...Watched a bit of the piece on sky sports. Seems a nice down to earth lad. Hate that Norwich are seen as such a big step up from us though.
Better than they feel getting zilch out of the transfer. How do you think Herne Bay feel with that headline?
I always used to think of Norwich, Southampton and ourselves as very similar clubs. We're certainly the odd one out now though.Watched a bit of the piece on sky sports. Seems a nice down to earth lad. Hate that Norwich are seen as such a big step up from us though.
Confirmed that we got £3m up front then. Nice bit of business.
He’ll get nothing down our right hand side against Dabo next seasonWatched a bit of the piece on sky sports. Seems a nice down to earth lad. Hate that Norwich are seen as such a big step up from us though.
He's going nowhere, both Norwich and Cov will be in the championship next season, so what's all this BS about his meteoric rise? He will no doubt earn more money, but he's not guaranteed a start at Norwich.
Just another George Thomas or Tom Baylis,
His agent has used him to make quick money, at the expense of guiding his career.

Yep a little strangeHis agent had got journos in to document it all?
Amazing how they forget he played for us.

Sky have links with the Jamie Vardy Academy as they’ve been following its progress, and Vardy is with the same agency as Sam.It does seem odd the Dorsett fella from Sky is in the same car travelling to Norwich with him
Maddison moved to Norwich when they were in the Championship. He's done OK. Also, try not to be a total dick. Ta!Just another George Thomas or Tom Baylis.
He’s right though. He’s done nothing yet, and he does stand a good chance of being another Conor Thomas. And I don’t care what you say, the only difference between us and Norwich are the division they’re in, give us regular promotions and a bit of success and we’d be getting 25,000 as well, no bother. Might go well for him and I wish him the best but we’ve seen this too many times already, it very rarely pans out how they think it will. The “we’ll be in the same league next season” as a way to say it was a bad move is nonsense - if a player moved from Watford to Liverpool it‘s not a bad move is it? One is likely to be competing for honours, the other struggling to stay up

City also planned for the future, with the additions of youngsters Melvin Sitti and Sam McCallum, although a reported initial £3m price tag for the former Coventry City prospect is wide of the mark.
"I think everyone knows us well enough that we're not paying £3m up front for a 19-year-old who's played 21 games in League One," said Webber. "Can the deal get up towards those figures? Absolutely, if he plays for England, and plenty of first team games for us.
"Most of our deals are structured in a way that if the player really succeeds, the club that they've come from should be part of. A bit like for us with the sale of James Madison.
At last a common sense reply, too many blinkered fanboys on here like that twat Mmttww above. Look at the facts, McCallum hasn’t even had a full season of pro football yet, and he’s playing in a formation that offers plenty of defensive cover, which means he is rarely left exposed.

Sorry but we are nowhere near Norwich. Not even close.
They’ve had over 20,000 every season for 15 years
