Wasps downward spiral... (15 Viewers)

I'm sort of enjoying this slow motion car crash happening.
The only down side is that our football club is tied to it all in some way. When wasps do leave, and they will leave, the council will be up shit street and I reckon a few heads will roll.

Someone in a meeting at work today offered free tickets for some game on Friday they have. Glad to say everyone declined the ‘offer’!

I asked someone afterwards (non CCFC supporter) why they didn’t take up he offer and there response was it just didn’t seem right being from Coventry.

There’s a twitter thing doing the rounds asking for retweets regarding the game with a chance of winning free tickets and free beer

It is pretty desperate, almost feels like they've lost the plot completely and the staff just don't know what's most important; making money or being seen to (through notionally bigger gates).
CCFC need to return to the Arena but not yet.

After reading the interview with this Stephen Vaughan chap at wasps he appears so false it’s beyond belief!!!

Even the most brain washed wasps supporter knows it’s all down to finance and the inability to strengthen their squad!

I'm not sure they do, a lot of them seem to think the results are all down to bad coaching and not the finances, unbelievable really. Seems he's the one, like most of his former top players, that's had enough and is walking away from Wasps, not the other way around. Can't blame him to salvage his career, and what a terrible proposition it is for any new manager to take over.

What about this classic from him:

People saying the stadium is too big are only half right. When we were playing well and winning, we were regularly getting 26-28k people through the doors.
Get back to winning ways and the crowds will be back, we need to be looking at how to get back to winning ways.
People don't like the signing of big named players for a season or 2 but they do get bums on seats. Wonder how much it would cost to get Beale back?

Lima is likely to go, Shields rumoured to be going, could free up a bit of cash... Add to that some great academy players coming through... Umaga, Willis etc... We could be at the start of a special few years for the club.
If we can get the coaching set up right we are laughing.

Oh, and went by the AlfromCov monicker online when 'supporting' Cov, changed it to AlCovWasp when he slimed over to the Gasworks, then eventually back to AlfromCov.
Maybe embarrassed?

What sort of team have Saracens been putting out Kneeza? Saw they won the last game.... are they going to rock up on Friday with the youth team or will they be competitive enough to beat Wasps?......
Is there the likelihood that the Wasps fans are going to be celebrating an amazing win against the Euro Champs ...but in reality it will be the reserves/kids?
Also, is this likely to be less of a draw to those attending in light of recent events?

Obviously hoping for a defeat and a low crowd!
Variable TBH. Low strength selection against Quins, and lost, but have been stronger since.
They know their fate, and will concentrate on being relegated as European Champions, but there's little love lost between the sides so I'd think they'll go as strong as they can on Friday (and they have international players coming out of their ears, unsurprisingly).

He is. Embittered member of an embittered formerly Cov RFC- supporting family of loons who have a massive chip about all things Cov RFC and CCFC. I just thank Christ his embarrassing dad Ron keeps his lip buttoned these days. Bunch of fckn weirdos.

Google his name, there is a thread on the Cov RFC forum with him and Al in it, assume it stems from there but it looks like he got banned or something.

Marvo, just to let you know mate, I have two complimentary Season Tickets. I have had them for a few years. KF started that off when he owned the club

Probably why they love Wasps now.

"I'm pretty sure it's correct that we earn more from the Ricoh now that CCFC aren't there due it being available for other things."

Fookin delusional.

I don't think so. Didn't they leave that bit out in their article?

The big factor that Wasps dont realise is Sponsorship of the Ricoh
The rent we pay them is not great, but covers some of the overheads
In this day and age however they are probably missing out on 1.5m a year stadium sponsorship.
If we could get promoted, a lot of sponsors would want the naming rights of the stadium, but so many Companies will not touch Wasps with their current behaviour

Yeah they purposely missed it out...
The Telegraph are way too blatant.

An article about city adding new facilities to Ryton and its stuff about it not being good enough quality and it's all going to be sold anyway.

Wasps director leaves and players say the whole truth hasn't come out and they just mention wheat a great guy he is.

From what I have heard a massive multi national company wants to sponsor the stadium but only if CCFC are playing there but Wasps want all of the money from the deal which is a big part of the problem affecting CCFC willing to move back!

Wasps are petulant little pricks. What idiot says they are a good hedge fund, worse than sisu.

I'd assume any sponsorship of Ricoh will be multi year, (was Ricoh 10 year initially?), you'd then assume that whichever company is paying the sponsorship to have us there would want it written in that they'd only pay that amount whilst both clubs are playing there.

Could it be that they'd want us signed up to a long term rental deal to ensure we don't disappear after a year and they're sponsorship is worth less.
