Its the first time that there has been a joint statement by Sisu, CCFC and the Council and Higgs. Maybe this time there is some progress. Doesn't look like Hoffman is anywhere tho.

Well, no news is good news, maybe? ....... If they are talking, it means we won't be evicted in the near future....?!

My fear is that it will take (ACL & the Council) a long time to develop any trust in SISU, so I wouldn't expect a rush of activity to move things forward. This all delays the budget and accounts submissions, and hence the lifting of the transfer embargo.

How can any club (manager) plan his team for next season, under this uncertainty? To have any chance of making a fist of next season, we need things in place now, a good start is imperative, IMO.

Meetings over the next month take us to the 2nd week of June. If agreement is reached by that time, then the formalities of filing the accounts have to be completed. Absolutely no chance of having a squad in place by pre season training then !!

But the board said they were talking to ACL every week anyway and having constant meetings.

Last years accounts being signed off have absolutely nothing to do with next years budget as last years accounts are for what has already happened!
For the transfer embargo to be lifted they need the accounts signed off that is all .

It is totally seperate from next years buget/ finacial plan that they have to give the football league which basically says they have a budget and plan which will enable them to complete next years fixtures.

So it is more sisu BS about not signing off the accounts before agreeing a new deal about the stadium more smoke and mirrors

At this stage I am glad they are talking at least and all parties are in it together - seems now the elections are over Mutton is now talking to the Devil In Skirt (Carry On reference in tribute to the farce our club has become). Also I think it should be noted that it is the Devil in Skirt herself that is doing negotiating not Igwe who has been truly sidelined, thankfully. At least with the head honcho at the table decisions can be made quicker and nothing lost in translation between Coventry and the dark evil lair in London.

Sorry Cloughie but I believe you are wrong, I'm no accountant (OSB where are you?) - but for the accounts to be signed off SISU have to guarantee to the auditors that they will cover any potential losses which as a loss making business there will inevitably be. At this stage they are unwilling to make that undertaking and that is why they are pushing for the rent reduction etc as this will decide the amount the losses are likely to be and how much exposure they are likely to have. Without there agreement to cover losses accounts cannot be legally signed off.

Tbf its a statement, thats a start. Working for the council, I can guarantee nothing gets agreed in 1 meeting. At least they're jointly confirming that something is going on

That statement reminds me of when we sell a player. "undisclosed"

I wonder if the council and higgs werent involved in the statement that would there be a statement at all. certainly cancels out that gmk rumour about free rent for 2 years :blue:

Maybe it was free rent of the council meeting room.

Well, of course the meeting would be confidential. Why is that such a surprise?

Ha! it was a transparent meeting but we can't really tell you what was discussed because it was mostly confidential. : )

ask yourself this...would you give free rent to sisu...no chance...so why should they..

Personally, I'm glad they've released a "joint" statement, so not just SISU saying they had the meeting, it was positive, they'll be meeting again. Seems fair to me.

I can't believe they haven't divulged any of the commercially sensitive information they discussed. FUCK OFF SISU.

Jan, in OSB's absence I'll do my best.

The club/company obviously owes a great deal of money to SISU (i.e. the famous loans). For the auditors to sign off the accounts on a "going concern basis", they will have to have assurances from SISU that these loans will not be called in within (if I remember correctly - I haven't audited for many years...) 12 months of the date that they sign off the accounts.

SISU won't be able to give these assurances until/unless a plan/budget is in place for the coming year.

That sounds good enough to me DTD :)

No, it's not for us. But it is for all the parties involved, which at the moment, is the important thing.

It's not a surprise, (commercial sensitivity etc) but neither is it 'transparent'.

In the Telegraph article it says the club are trying to access some of the revenue generated on a match day (Food & Drink sales).

I might be wrong but are these not sub contracted out to Compass?

Even if ACL wanted to let Sisu in on the revenue I'm not sure they could.

Oh I dunno, if I wasn't paying my rent, I'm pretty sure my landlord would "talk" to me: at the very least to say "Pay up in the next week or you are out on your arse".

If thats the case I stand corrected, ....but why my judgement has become so synical over everything sisu spout?

Well I hope you're right and the council tell them to f**k straight off.

Last thing I want is those money grabbing bastards getting a foot in the stadium. They'll line their own pockets and the club/team won't see a penny.
