Given our need for a creative midfielder, and Thornton's current series of trials with Championship/League One clubs (and our track record of re-signing released players) could he do a job for us next season? Personally think he'd be a good option to have as long as he doesn't go out on the lash too much.

You are taking the piss, aren't you?

He is an absolute disaster....and would make McSheffrey look like a model pro.....

Just putting it out there! I was thinking cheap and cheerful. The boy has talent, plus he's older and hopefully wiser. But yes, it was a little - just a little, mind - tongue in cheek.

Whilst we're at it, why don't we give Charlie Sheen a go...

Quiet funny that. He's an amateur compared to Thornton though. Once I even saw him smoking outside my local shop just bizzare.

If he was that good, then i dont see why Northampton are letting him go?.. Boy has got talent and Trouble in equal measures sadly. And his are doubles.

If Sheen ever really gets his delinquency together, the Thornton brothers can muster a tag-team contra of brown-bagging to see him off

Why do these players with god given skills throw it all away by going on the lash and destroying their careers, the patience and loyalty of their clubs and their self esteem.

A players career is relatively short term compared to the average "John Doe" something like 15 years max before physical and mental decline takes place.

Why can't they appreciate there earnings and adulation window is limited and save their inclination to piss it all up the wall until later after their career has finished.

I am still enjoying my visits to the bar and supping quantities of Guinness in reasonable quantities and I am nearly 70 - if KT likes his pop as much as I do he could have postponed serious consumption during his playing career and still have 35 years of swallowing the black stuff - surely not too much to ask of these overpaid, under achieving and clueless individuals.

The boy has talent alright, no doubt one of the most gifted, and exciting players seen in Sky Blue for a long time.
He could have gone on to great things, if only he could have respected his God Given Gift, he was given more chances than he deserved in my opinion.
You robbed us, and yourself Kevin, at a time when we needed you, what a tragic waste!

Too many stories to tell about him! He liked to hit people in town when they werent looking and then runs off! Saw him get whacked a couple of times which was always amusing!!

Didnt we get rid because he was drink driving without a license?

Didnt he go back to nuneaton after northampton, doesnt that say something?

He thought he was much better than he was!

My thoughts on this one is totally neutral, BUT......A hell of a lot of you(Not all) would have King back in a heart beat.
What Thornton did, isn't in the same league as King....Just a thought mind...just a thought!

Kings vile crimes are a lot worse. Thornton inflicts damage only to himself. Problem with him is he was washed up at 21. Couldn't train properly even then.

We have just got rid of Fatwood. Let's bring another waste of space in that are more interested in other things than football

I suggested it a few weeks ago: a pay-as-you play deal plus a free supply of "coke and crisps" ;)

Why don't we get Hedman back as well while we are at it?

I was so very sure at the time that he'd "lost it" big time-he just seemed incredibily insane! I wasn't imagining it.

The coke would be enough to entice him anywhere.

We could stick a fishing rod to his head with a bag dangling off the end of it in front of him..he'd run around a lot then at least!

It isn't about the morals of the crime here for me it is about the lack of professionalism, King at Cov there was nothing to suggest he was anything but professional on the pitch and training field working hard in training, kept himself physically fit when out of football and kept his private life seperate etc.

On the other hand you have Thornton who would probably miss or turn up late to training half smashed from the night before and then probably piss around in training and then throw a strop when he wasn't selected for the side.

May I say without wishing to sound rude. Where was Kings' professionalism when HE phoned AT, and said he was going to sign again for the City?:eek::eek:

Where was SISI's professionalism when THEY agreed a contract but dragged their heels on offering it to be signed to save 10k a week until the season started, just like they did when terms were agreed before he came to us.
