I watched the full game again on Sky sports when i got in yesterday. Maybe im being a tad harsh on Kelly. Hes been brilliant for us for so long.

The drop in quality and experience to eccles yesterday would have been a big gamble for Robins. Hes obviously carrying an injury.
I just wish Kelly didnt hit every shot 20 yards over!

Kelly breaks up a lot of play and passes reasonably well, when he came back in the team after injury it took him a few games to get up to speed and for the past few games his form has noticeably dropped, hopefully this is just a slight niggle with him and having this week to recover and get our old Kelly back

I thought it was a great team performance again. We are tough to break down, can break well and are resolute.

A special shout out to: O'Hare, Walsh and Allen who I thought were fantastic throughout. Again, the only disappointment was Kelly. Terrible passing and decision making. He is the only player in our side who makes me shout "Don't Shoot!!" when he gets it on the edge of the area. If he wasn't captain, then I don't think he would be in the side.

No he’s far too slow and it’s why he wasn’t included

While I also would've left him out due to wanting to play the box formation (I reckon MR's main reasoning too rather than Biamou's abilities), it's impossible for you to say Biamou would've been awful.

Fadz isn't renowned for his pace and was immense. Parkinson teams are strong, physical and direct so someone like Biamou could at some stage have helped deal with that. Willis is quite short for a centre half and while Godden's movement could have been used against him, so could Biamou's strength. We were under pressure for periods of that game whereby someone capable of holding the ball up to retain possession could've been useful, especially with Kelly having a bit of an off day.

Unless you've got access to alternate realties you really can't say that Biamou would've been awful. It's an opinion based on your own bias concerning Biamou's abilities.

Exactly the point I was making to him - his ability to say what WOULD HAVE have happened or what WILL happen borders on the skills of a certain time-travelling Doctor.

I hear what you are saying Torch.

On Kelly though I think it’s fairly common knowledge now that he’s been playing through an injury. So I’d personally give him a 10 for being out there and giving everything for the benefit of the team. He’s playing in one of the most demanding positions in our most competitive games of the season. With an injury.

He’s a vital cog and his performances before picking up this knock have always been fantastic for us.

Like you I’m looking forward to the return of a fully fit Kelly sometime soon. It shows how far we’ve come that Kelly’s contribution is even being questioned - I think he’s been our best player for 2-3 seasons.
