Firstly, thanks to Pete and Mark for their efforts on our behalf.
A couple of other thoughts:
This suggestion that SISU should ask for the EU to drop the investigation into the complaint - even though everyone seems to agree that such a request would simply be ignored by the EU - seems to be a distraction. Now, if Wasps clearly stated that such a request would remove all "legal case related barriers" to CCFC returning to the Ricoh, then fair enough - pressure SISU. In the absence of such a statement, I'm afraid it seems to be an attempt to muddy the waters.
I've been a huge critic of SISU over the years. I thought that the way they broke the Ricoh lease was appalling (with the sleight of hand between the legal entities) and I boycotted Northampton, believing that the only option was to starve them back to Coventry. However, you have to give credit for actions and their recent running of the club has been good in the circumstances. I think that the timing of the complaint to the EU was stupid, but it happened and all parties have to deal with the current reality. Wasps can't realistically expect SISU/CCFC to give an indemnity on this issue, so they have to decide if they are going to do a deal to allow us to return to the Ricoh, or if they are going to maintain that the indemnity is their sticking point.
