No. I started with an expression of frustration that we didn’t get any answers out of Joy or press her on the things we need to know. Not aimed at anyone personally. Just frustration that yet again we’ve got a nothing burger statement with some fanciful shite about a fantasy stadium in it.

That triggered the entire forum to start at me, standard, and I responded in kind. You have not brought my family into it but others have. You were concern trolling. I’m not on one. I just don’t bow to peer pressure without good reason and in among all the insults and demands I fuck off, I’ve yet to see a cogent argument why I’m wrong. So I will crack on.

Concern trolling?
Don't know what that is but I can guess and if you think that's what it is then you're very badly mistaken.

Fair enough. If it was genuine I apologise and thank you for your concern but I’m fine. Hard to tell when the entire forum is taking pot shots.

Then I don’t get why they don’t want Sisu to try everything to get us back. I really don’t. If it’s not Wasps changing their mind they don’t want it. Would rather stay in Brum than rent under Wasps. I don’t get it mate. I don’t get it at all. Hating another team so much you’re happy to kill your own. Wanting councillors “held to account” for attending their games. Being willing to wait for years outside the city if it means they go bust. As a Christian, tell me that comes from a good place. Because it just seems like blind hatred to me clouding their judgement.

The message seems to be we’ve decided the indemnity is the problem. Nothing else matters and if it’s not Wasps backing down it’s not worth it. Well I have no faith in Wasps backing down because we asked them nicely. Sorry. I don’t think either Wasps or Sisu give a shit about CCFC. So if there’s something we as fans can do aside from hope Wasps grow a conscience I’ll ask for it to be done. Call me what you want.

I personally think the biggest problem is that conversations aren't being held at the appropriate level. Ultimately, the situation is that the complaint has been made, and as far as anyone has been able to tell us, can't be withdrawn (unless Wasps can point us in another direction). The parties need to move past that if it's genuinely the case, otherwise we have zero chance.

The next thing that seems to be a sticking point is whatever legal coverage that Wasps have requested, which Sisu find unreasonable. One of 2 things need to happen with that. Either Sisu/CCFC accept it's a reasonable risk (unlikely) or Wasps alter there demands (not sure if likely or not). The only way for them to do that is for them to talk to each other at the highest level. That's where we are really. Personally don't think we can demand anything from either party (other than making sure they find a way to do a deal) as we don't know the full details (which are covered by NDA). We just need to encourage/demand they get together and talk about it and find a way to make a deal.

The multiple NDAs are at the heart of the matter. So much speculation on what may or may not be happening.

I share your frustrations but if you look at the way your initial post was written you can't be surprised by the reaction it got, it is pretty confrontational towards the end. Just take Mark up on his offer to put questions forward in future via PM as we are at 22 pages with no end in sight.

Do you plan to at least ask Wasps about the “forget the case” thing? Please? Even if you think it’s bollocks. It’s the only straw to grasp in this other than asking them to accept Sisus legal action and let us back anyway. Which is hoping the hedge fund that owns them has a heart who’s strings we can pull on.
Have already asked and didn’t get an on the record answer

Whatever happened to Linnells expert? Can he put you in touch? Did he ever get back to Pete about this?

Ive read the same Telegraph article and it does seem the case but clearly Wasps believe it’s not. Frankly I’d back the council to have access to decent advice on this stuff, better than most, and Wasps to be talking to them. So if they think that’s the case there must be a reason for it.
It was Rupert Lowe I’m sure and he is no longer an Mep and hasn’t answered me so I suppose he won’t have answered Stuart. Simon Gilbert is a bit of an expert I don’t think he thinks it can be withdrawn

we've heard several times that deals have ben done and I have no doubt that some of the people who have posted on here or who have told me in person have done so in good faith only for the deal not to materialise. Fairly sure the rug is being pulled at a higher level just when everyone else involved thinks they've come to an agreement.

I didn't have a pop at you, I just talked about the 'new ground' and suddenly I was getting flak as well

Not even what Linnell and CJ could tell us? Do you get the impression they think Sisu could do something to get talks going? Or is it indemnity or bust?
I was told that if joy was wiling to meet that Derek would be there. I’m just trying to ensure this promise is honoured by both parties. My opinion. Wasps need ccfc and ccfc need to play in Coventry. Have a bloomin talk and get it sorted so we can sell season tickets for the first championship season in many a year

That's the thing and you are calling their bluff about it on the record.

You now have Joy saying directly to your face she would meet and her saying that the owner is hard to get hold off. Take that when you speak to Wasps and see what they say.

Let's face it, they told you off the record that you wouldn't get to meet anybody from SISU.

Derek probably isn't keen. he has a lot to lose - hasn't he got 18m in loans tied up in Wasps? Also what sort of legal issues revolve around the issuance of the bond if it is found to have been undervalued by the Council?

I'm still hugely sceptical about the new ground talk. To the point I don't really even entertain it. If I'm proven wrong and they build one I'll be delighted.
Until then I just want the focus to be on getting back to the Ricoh, (even though I can't abide the place).
Indeed. Well done though for actually getting a meeting with them both and at least a chance to have your say.
Please though (and I’m sure you both are not) don’t fall for everything they say as they could well be just paying you lip service and giving you snippets of what you really want to hear and remember that it’s really only their side of things.

I don't think they did fall for anything to be fair, literally just posted up what she said.

Which we are happy they have done. Was it though a wasted opportunity to ask about timelines/stadiums etc and call them out on this as Schmee said previously?
Has anyone got in touch with the EFL to actually ask if it is a fact that they have proposed 6 sites to the EFL for approval and the EFL are happy with them?
I haven’t read the pages of this thread so am unsure if any of this has been mentioned/brought to the table?

I don't think it is a one off and then the end of it and nothing has been taken at face value and believed.

Pete and Mark are trying to speak to Wasps / CCC. I have confidence that they won't fall for any old shite and let it drop. Pete didn't with the indemnity stuff.

I think the long and short of 22 pages is: this wasn’t a meeting to challenge them. It was an attempt to build relationships with the view to setting up a meeting between Joy and Derek.

Those of us who want questions answering will just have to carry on ranting into the void.

By challenge do you mean plan with ACL and Haskell to force the club into admin thinking that they will get to play football club owner? Is that enough of a challenge?

It is only you who gets the impression everything was believed from it.

You're not going to achieve open ongoing dialogue with the primary aim of getting the club back to Coventry by walking in for your first ever face to face meeting with them and laying down a bunch of leading questions about a stadium no-one believes in.

I’d ask why the fuck would anyone want SISU drop the EC complaint? (not that it’s been proved they even can).

If the Council undersold the Ricoh then fuckthem. Why should they get away with it?

For me it's the very remote possibility of it being successful (based on repeated failures to date) when weighed against the massive damage it's consequences are having on the club. SISU are obviously within theor rights to keep going but i can't see it ending positively for CCFC.

They've said the length of lease they want is indicative of when they would want a stadium to be ready. That is 5 years. So, yes, that was asked.
Regarding contacting the EFL, no, certainly not yet. I don't think they're at the stage where they would submit to the EFL for approval (if that is something they have to do), but they are apparently within the radius set by the EFL for a potential ground. I can ask if that is part of the process, and at what stage that would need to be done.

Wasps have to pay the correct amount and the bond price collapses and an already bankrupt company is well fucked
I am still struggling with this concept. Not disagreeing just wanting to be able to understand how a purchaser can be made to pay more than was agreed by the vendor. Surely it is the vendors problem...EU say WASPS got it on the cheap but HOW can they force the price up... is that how the law works ?

It was both, and they were challenged. Maybe we've done it less aggressively than you would have, but I'm going to do me. Pete will be himself. If you want things doing your way, then the best person to do it is you. We can't please everyone, but most seem happy with what has been asked and we will follow up with any further questions that haven't already been asked.
