Doesn't fit in with the spurs style of play, Spurs play with the big man upfront and then get people making runs off him.

How can you say he doesnt suit their style given the amount of goals he has scored this season compared to minutes played? He must be one of the top scorers in the country this season when you average out minutes on the park! (if that makes sense)

I suppose the same could be said about the baby faced assassin, absolute quality off the bench but never looked that great when he started for united. So if you were talking about minutes per goal Ole was top notch but was always 3rd choice because of not contributing/fitting in with United's all round play.

You're right a good comparison. I suppose back in time fair lough was another. Didn't solskjar score a hat trick as a sub once?

Just googled it - he scored 4 goals in 12 minutes after coming on as a sub in the 2nd half vs Forest!

but defoe is class when he starts aswell

No one said he was crap they just said he doesn't particularly fit in with the way tottenham play, i.e lone striker with van der vaart playing deep. They need someone who can hold the ball up for them, which is why he has been pretty much 3rd choice this season. Only started 11 games in the premier league this season, with 13 appearances coming off the bench. And his starts have usually come as a result of a injury to Van Der Vaart or Adebeyor.
