I put inside number 9 on netflix, think it is the first one and they were all hiding in the wardrobe. I really didn't get it?

I didn't particularly like that episode either. It's not indicative of the rest of the series. Each episode is a stand alone.

Try the next episode 'A Quiet Night In' if you don't like that then it's definitely not for you.

That's a fabulous episode that.

I did really like the wardrobe one too though.

I'm not sure why I didn't particularly like the wardrobe episode. It's possible that I was expecting something like The League of Gentlemen or Psychoville at the time and felt let down. I might revisit.

I didn't get the wardrobe one when it was first shown. In fact I didn't even bother with the rest of the first series after that until months after it was broadcast.

Anyone that watches the first episode and isn't sure I'd say stick with it and at least try the second episode which is A Quiet Night In.

Not a lot of good TV comedy around. Just started rewatching The Office yet again.

Few recommendations: Detectorists if you haven’t seen it. Was on BBC 4 but seemed to fly under the radar.

Think What We Do In The Shadows is still on iPlayer.

if you’ve got Netflix Schitts Creek and The Good Place.
I liked the detectorists

Watched that when it was first released, and it put me off watching the rest. However, I dipped back in for the footy one (first of series 2?), and now I'm hooked.

I think someone mentioned Tim Minchin's 'Upright' somewhere earlier, but it didn't seem to get a response.
So, I'm just going to add my vote now. Fckn brilliant.

Couple we watched recently. The Stranger on Netflix is good.

I also downloaded and watched the 8 part version of War Of The Worlds. It's fine. Not a lot happens, but it's paced nicely and there's a few well known people in it, Gabriel Byrne and Elizabeth McGovern. I think it is going to be on Sky soon. I'll watch it again as the version I downloaded didn't have any subtitles and I missed all the bits in French - there are a lot.

Started last night with 2 episodes on Fox. Wasn't going to bother but saw good things being said on twitter so might give it a go.

Yep, I recorded it last night. I do love a bit of HG Wells anyway.

Fingers crossed for this one.

Were there subtitles for the French bits?

Just watching it now. Yes, in French, with subtitles.

I'll watch it all again then as I missed all that really, I understood the odd thing, but not all.

Anything more than bonjour and I'd be screwed!

In the end I installed an app on my phone which translates speech into text, so I could understand a few sentences, but the phone couldn't keep up.

Just watched the first episode. Thought it was excellent..

Yes, it's very good. The only thing in common with the book or story is the title. I really liked it, but as I said not a lot happens.

I've watched the first few episodes of The Trials Of Gabriel Fernandez.

It's peak grief porn and I have to say it's so grim that I don't want to watch anymore.

Great news!

It's obvious from the podcasts that Steve and Reece are full of ideas and love making the show.
I'm amazed it doesn't get more viewers just through word of mouth.

Exactly the sort of thing the BBC should be making, quality program that wouldn't get made on commercial TV. Sure it doesn't cost a fortune despite all the big names who appear in it. Most of them seem keen to be in it because its so good rather than someone is getting the cheque book out.

I couldn't sleep so popped on the latest episode of Inside No.9.

That was quite possibly my favourite episode of the entire series. The fusion of comedy, drama and
horror
were perfectly intertwined and the ending had me smiling from ear to ear.

Just perfect.
