Should have won at Sunderland, Peterborough and held on at Oxford too after scoring so late...

Would we 13 clear of 3rd now if we did lol

Add onto the fact that we shouldn't have lost two of the three games we did and we'd be close to confirming it already.

its been fantastically solid all season. lost 2 games.

the hysteria by the vocal minority before xmas was nuts
If I may disagree. We deserved more before Xmas. Every right to expect a few results away away. Rather than good performances away home.

It’s fantastic. The team is relentless, even when we’re not at our best I expect us to turn teams over every week.

I know it works both ways as we've scored plenty of late goals ourselves, but imagine we'd held on for the win at Oxford, Sunderland and Peterborough. We'd be out of sight now

Second best in the division even though we didn’t record a win until the end of December.
Simply amazing.

Don't think there was an ever an issue, the wins were gonna come.

The 2 of the best away complete performances I seen were in November and December away in the FA Cup beat an in form play off chasing Colchester easily and best away performance was at Ipswich away.

Just gone from strength to strength.

A sizeable amount of hindsight executing there. There were only 4 teams in the entire Football league without an away win at that point. One is now rock bottom in L2 and the other 2 are bottom 6 in the Championship. We were also 12 points behind the league leaders in the full table.

Now I'm not suggesting we were going to struggle as badly as those teams, as our home form was really good and there were plenty of signs to suggest we could start picking up more points away, but it's taken us producing the best form in the entire country and a run better than any in my lifetime to get us where we are now, 36 points from 42 is incredible. No-one was predicting quite that level.

The away Ipswich game in the FA Cup was a massive win and a very important mental hurdle - I'd argue as important a result to us in the league as any of the actual league matches we've played.

Yeah we should have won at Sunderland and at Posh. As we were by mikes the better team.

Oxford we were lucky to draw tbf. We were battered 2nd half.

Little moments you remember 20 second moments.

Oxford bombarding us they hit the post ( should have been 1-1). Seconds later amazing break and we were 2 nil up! Godden brilliant header.

I honestly think as the other teams have 9 games left.. And we have a 7 point cushion on 3rd we need just 5 or 6 wins from 10 games

Agreed on the Ipswich away win in the cup!

Whilst we definitely had a couple games we should’ve won away before Wycombe. I don’t think our away form was as bad as the table shows when you factor in away draws at Sunderland, Oxford, Peterborough and Portsmouth. 3 of those we were unlucky not to win!

Pompey will always be one of the highlights of the season for me. Was absolute pandemonium in there when we got the equaliser.

it’s a completely new team. Hyam and Kelly aside, this team bears no resemblance to last seasons. It was always going to take time to gel and find the right formation. Early signs were there and we have been solid all season bar one game.

when you think of the players we have sold for good money recently, I can’t see how any of them would get into this team......Bayliss, Stevenson, Thomas, Chaplin.

MR really has done an outstanding job

Exactly, and we were within a whisker of beating P’boro, Oxford and Sunderland away too.

The key thing for us was to address our away form and since the Wycombe game, our form was exploded. Only dropping points to Fleetwood who have been in great form themselves.

Our advantage going into this half of the season was our good home record, and playing the teams around us at home rather than away. We’ve beaten Pompey, Sunderland and drew to Rotherham. Fantastic results. Now, we’ve got P’boro, Wycombe and Oxford left to play.

We’re in champions form at the part of the season when champions prove themselves. It’s ours to lose now.

Thanks for tip but i think damage is terminal - mangled it on a concrete slab. Replacement winging it's way to me as we speak.

Fair enough. I had the same issue with my daughters phone where the left side stopped responding.

Date I say it, but this 2nd half of season we have been fortunate with injuries and suspensions. There hope I havnt jinxed it!

I don't see Robins changing the starting X1 now till the end. He's found this formula and will stick it with it barring injury and suspension.

Agreed!

To contrast ourselves with Ipswich, we’ve been lucky with injuries. We’ve got good depth in our squad, but I’m concerned if Gooden gets injured again. By far our best striker.

This. Makes you wonder what's the point of coming on to a forum if all you're going to do is moan about other people's views. Might as well stand in front of the mirror and gibber away to yourself.
