Which makes it stranger that a CCFC fan who doesn't support Wasps has seen more Wasps games than CCFC games?

I'm not insulting him, just don't get it.

So you turn down a ticket out of Principal and sack your best mate off in the process. There is no pleasing the purists.

I dont think anyone is saying hes not a CCFC supporter. Just questioning his loyalties/priorities. Hes been to more w**ps matches than CCFC matches this season. Also, his friends choices. He chose to take a group of friends to a w**ps match for his birthday!
Just for context, a group of us are ST holders, for the Sunderland game we bought a box and went on the box for one of the lads Birthdays. For my Birthday last season, we went corporate and had a meal etc. Yet this certain coventrian, takes his mates to a London w**ps game!

No, but they care about fans and money and good PR though. A boycott would stop all of these.

London Wasps are not interested in good PR. Look at some of the things they have been up to recently.

i suspect we are talking at cross purposes here
i don't give a damn about wasps and although i have been i wouldn't go whilst they take this attitude to CCFC
i d rather wasps went back to London where they came from
Boycotting our "home" games will serve no purpose only to cause more financial distress to the football club (not to SISU)

but we all have our own views and are unlikely to change anyone else view

PUSB

Why go if you don't give a damn?

I don't give a damn about Villa or Leicester, I would only go to watch them if they were playing city.

I am.

A supporter and a fan are different things. To be a supporter you have to support the team or club in some way. Being a fan is having a team but in no way supporting them. You know, stealing ifollow from some guy on facebook and complaining about selling players. Going to watch Wasps and never City.

I would yeah. If he was really a "best mate" he wouldnt expect me to go to a match for a team he knew I was so strongly against.
When the insects first arrived, I came home from work one Saturday afternoon to find out my Father-in-Law had been given a few free tickets in the pub. He took my (then) 8 or 9yo son up. I never spoke to my FiL for 6 months. We fell out over it big time because he knew my stance on them and still took my son without my knowledge. So yes, fuck my best mate if he even dared suggest it for his birthday. If he wants me at his birthday, choose elsewhere. If not, then I wont be coming. Simple.
If your best mate suggested a Villa or Leicester match, would you still have gone?

I went because i like sport and it was before all of this nonsense
i would go and watch most football matches if i was offered a ticket it doesn't always have to be the team or the sport you support
i just know that i always go to watch the sky blues im not so insular that i dont go and watch other sports
that is very narrow minded i just know that i now will not go and watch wasps now whilst thy are in dispute and trying to distress CCFC

This is fucking tedious. So I am not a supporter I am a fan. I never stood on the cop and watched Wallace score the best bicycle kick ever, I never went to Wembley new and old and probably didn't see us win on the last day against Everton to stay in the league. It's all a figment of my imagination because I went on a free ticket to watch Wasps. You support the club any way you like your obviously all better Supporters than I.

Are you likely to go to any home games the rest of this season?

I mean we’ve all been to MK Dons, we’ve arguably put more money into that franchise than the OP has wasps

I mean I won’t step foot in a Wasps game but 1 extra number and £4.50 is not going to pay off the bond

There is an argument to be said for us all taking free tickets and turning up, as they'd have to pay more for stewards then...
I mean we’ve all been to MK Dons
Speak for yourself;)

(One excellent bonus if we win promotion and they go down, is we won't have to have that argument annually anymore!)

It’s a good stadium. But considering we regularly take more there than Wasps have attending their games, this thread is a bit blown out of proportion

in my view anyone who goes and watches Coventry play at st andrews is more of a supporter than someone who doesn't go irrespective of whether you watch other teams and sports
i say good on you you if go to STANS (although i wouldn't now go to watch wasps )

I don't think that's right. There are many reasons why people can't go to St Andrews.

The St Andrews thing was compared with going to watch Wasps, sometimes there are people who moan about CCFC being moved but would happily go and watch Wasps. It wasn't a comparison of somebody going to St Andrews or not.

i agree if the reason they are not going to STANS is anything other that i dont go on principal or i cant because of circumstance
there suddenly seems to be a lot more starting to say im going to go and circumstances seem to have changed or principals dropped
Just saying

Each to their own. I have a season ticket for St Andrews and attend a few select away games.
I am an ex rugby player and love rugby. I will not watch wasps. My grandson was a flag bearer there against Gloucester all the family attended except me.
I stayed home and watched Ipswich game on I follow. I am in dog house. -;))
I am not a better supporter than anyone else, and I am no worse than anyone else. I hate SISU, and think CCC and Wasps are a bunch of knuts.
Just enjoy this season because I have waited 53 years for this, and won’t be around if it’s that long again.

but i find it hard to accept anyone saying they are a CCFC supporter when they dont go and watch the city ( i should add if they are physically able to )

Senior Vick you had to buy that hotdog why? You've brought out all the holier than thou fans.

Holier than thou? Come on he's had a nightmare.
Admitted going to watch wasps while at the same time also admitting he hasn't been to watch city - what do you expect?

Once seeing Ian Wallace score an overhead kick when God was in short trousers isn't going to get him off the hook.
Should hold his hands up, admit he's made a complete arse of it and we can all move on.

What a complete load of shit.

I haven't been to brum and I still wont go there next season if we go up or stay in league 1.
So city is no longer my club then? I've been going since 79 with the majority of those years st's. Who the fuck are you to say what people are?

I dont agree with this guy going to wasps but then I dont agree with you lot going to the shithole that is st Andrew's either. I do however find it a tad hypocritical that you've attended a franchise game then go on about people not being fans anymore.

I'll bide my time and hopefully we'll be back at the ricoh next season. In the meantime I have no desire to visit the ricoh and watch the franchise with the free tickets we can get here(land rover) unlike you.

Why would I enjoy watching my team surrounded by a bunch of people that don't think I can have an opinion. I will go when they're back in the City if you fanatics let me of course. And if Wasps own the ground I will still have a pint in the ground or the casino like thousands of others do. By the way if the club are paying rent to Wasps aren't they doing the same thing as any one buying something their, it supports Wasps in your opinions. Hypocrisy of the situation is beyond fucking stupid. PUSB (am I allowed to say that)

Won't watch his own club temporarily play in another city after they've been kicked out by their landlords.
Will watch those landlords permanently playing away from their home.

Boycotting rots your brain.

Should’ve kept it as your dirty little secret m8. There’s next to zero love or tolerance for anything Wasps here, and rightly so.

I’m not going to question your allegiance but saying you went was always going to ruffle some feathers, regardless of the reason. Suckitup and move on, unless you like a rumble..then, as you were m8

Like I said why did he buy that hotdog .The guy in question has watched City for over 40 years (good friend) as he says work commitments .I think rhino1002 is a bit of a hypocrite having admitted he watched Wasps in the past and may well left a shedload of money behind a bar at the Ricoh at City games .

In his posting history he entirely blames the club for going to Birmingham - I hope he had a nice day supporting the franchise

Not getting the hump and once again you are making assumptions. I took the day off to celebrate a mates birthday, he chose the location not me. Like I said this thread is turning into an echo chamber, your view is you can't support the city if you've been to a Waps game. I am not a Wasps fan and never will be.

Any "mate" of mine who decided to get me to book a day off, then announced we were going to see London Wasps- while City were playing a huge game- would not be a "mate" for too much longer after that.
