My mum works in healthcare. She said in 2009 circa 480 people died from swine flu and no sports were cancelled. Many thousands died worldwide however this pandemic seems to be much more critical and scary for the world? Why? One theory my brother proposed is that in 2009 we had globalists running the world's agenda. Since then populism has taken over with trump, brexit and other countries showing the same tendencies in voting. The media and left are strong advocates of the globalist agenda and are using fear to try and bring governments to their knees. Climate change is not too dissimilar in that it has been weponised by the left anti capitalist brigade to create fear I.e. 20 years before the end of life as we know it. Nothing controls behaviours of humans like fear does.
Worrying that this is the level of discourse we've descended to already. Lay off the Alex Jones.

In an exceptionally crowded field, this wins the award for biggest pile of errant bullshit spoken so far.

well I don’t know but how can you compare us to Liverpool? Leeds and WBA are equally as likely to get promoted as we are if not more so.

yes I get it but you have to take it as of now with the league ‘frozen’, and at this precise moment we are more likely to go up than them looking at current league placings. If we’re removing all “might have happened” from the thinking then we are more likely.

Well they would be included too. Any team who goes up whether you use average points over the season or form or whatever goes up. Anywhere where there’s contention the team stays where they are.

Nothing to do with Alex Jones and I don't rate him at all. very odd to say so. I am comparing the outcry and mass hysteria now vs 2009. It's a compare and contrast.

If games are cancelled relegation is not happening. We can be crowned champions as can liveroool but not promoted - it all will hinge on if the premier league extends by 2 clubs then that will filter down the leagues

I just compared and contrasted you to a muppet, the results are, I’m afraid, quite definitive.

Most of what you said is from Alex Jones stuff whether you heard it there or not.

So in most ways everything is void?

Yes I think so there’s going to be no relegations in this scenario I can’t any way the premier league sanction it

you could have play offs I suppose with say the top 6 in our league with a handicap system but I don’t see it. They will promote the national league winner to get 92 back so something has to move

Life is ok we need to carry on while we can most people will be fine and those that aren’t need hospital to be available over time. Those with symptoms need to self isolate, those without need to carry on. It would have been no problem to have played today.
I don’t know what’s happening over there but I will agree as it wouldn’t have meant losing flights money.

I think you’re right and this the is most likely outcome. Halfway house between voiding everything and trying to estimate where people will finish.

I can’t see how playoffs or deciding CL places would work and I think things like that may depend on what the CL decide which might be carry it on next season with the same teams.

There has to be some sort of normality resumed at some point. A lot of people think this will be around for another year or 2. We can’t just live life for the next 2 years cancelling football if a player has a cold and goes into self isolation.

They’re only gonna test people who are seriously ill with it, so everyone just gonna panic every time they feel unwell

I only just got up and the hangover is a bit terrifying, suspected catching up on here would be entertaining when I finally got out of my pit, it hasn’t disappointed.

honestly? No not terrified, tbh a bit tired of it all now, in the same boat as lots of others by having older parents but I’m too sick of it to be afraid. Looking forward to the aggro on here at some point :)

it’s just good to see that the ‘experts’ have realised that social engineering shouldn’t be their priority and the safety of the population should be, not the time to be carrying out experiments. There was never any doubt Boris would bend and crack soon as he thought people might not like him for something.
That pub you went to is a higher risk environment than a sports event

Republic of Ireland cases rise by 33% in one day - good to see you’ve got it under control

I noticed this got political...but I’ve had a few and can’t be arsed to study context..or anything, really. So I guess I’m sorry in advance...but...

...Trump and Johnson are grade A c*nts. If you voted for either you have absolutely no need for a fucking lobotomy.

Edit to add: If only the opposition weren’t complete pellets as well...
That’s the problem the day’s of responsible politicians has gone. Now we have buffoons in power and in opposition some who spend more time on social media than actually do what they were elected to do
