Apparently all clubs in European football have committed to finish the season by June 30th including our own leage EFL
There are 104 days till the end of June deadline- (over 25 weeks)
67 days (approx 10 weeks) till the start of the first week of May the very last chance when you would need to start to complete fixtures - from that point fixtures could be completed in 5 weeks (approx 2 games a week) would take you 30th June -
This is discounting Play offs which would have to be thought through - Maybe no plays off - straight promotion and relegation

And me. Plus it seems the most sensible and compromise. We all want the season finished one way or the other and there is no good solution here. It’s the best we can make of it.

playing behind closed doors for a month whilst not great by any means.... it keeps disruption at a minimum and the season will get finished for everyone so then everyone can go off again and plan for the new season.

I think they may relax the IFollow 3pm Saturday rule to help clubs raise some revenue. It's not like it can affect attendances.

It will be a luxury many can ill afford and of course you can't just all pile round a mate's house, or go down the pub.

If they are going to charge, it will have to be dirt cheap I would have thought.

Yeah thats the other argument for it being cheap, i don't know what to think about anything atm so who knows what could happen!

True. But that’s the case all year round even without a pandemic. Sadly the clubs aren’t a charity and the players would want paying. I hope the government announces something closer to other countries in terms of support for workers today.

Shmmeee, Otis is right, it isn't all year round. My daughter works in a pub, and it's been closed due to coronovirus, so she's gone from a full time wage to Employment Support allowance of £75 per week, even less than ssp! And we don't know how long the pub will be closed for, even if it will still be in business when life returns to 'normal' whatever that will be.

I meant there’s always people on sick pay. I get your argument but it doesn’t help if by doing that the club have to let go of people and they earn even less on benefits.

If they pay people SSP then we are going to have a massive demand problem in the economy, I really hope they announce something more.

Of course the easy option is the government bail out the lower league clubs on the condition of free access for the rest of the season to keep spirits up.

Good luck banning mass gatherings when teams start winning things though

End of june is a preference, but not cast in stone at this stage
