I can’t believe that people don’t get the difference between shopping to eat and going to the fucking pub. Yes, you can catch it in the supermarket, at work or picking your kids up from school (until next week). But these things are all necessary to some extent. By continuing going to crowded places that you really have no direct need to be in you are increasing the chances of catching it and of spreading it to others.

If we all say fuck it, it will spread faster.

Spreading faster is exactly what we are trying to avoid, hence not doing non-essential things that might spread it.

How is that difficult to understand?

It's truly mind boggling.

Presumably the same people who a few weeks ago were saying it's just a common cold.

This is why we need they to enforce closures of pubs etc, because these selfish people clearly are not able to think for themselves (or for others more importantly).

Because people aren't just shopping to eat are they?

Going to queue up at Tesco for hours to get some bog roll isn't just shopping to eat.

It is more about the state of supermarkets at the minute.

Again, people like Piers Morgan and other gimps acting like anybody who walks in a pub is a murderer but have no issue with people fighting in supermarkets and behaving in a way that people have to queue up and that there is no actual food on the shelves. Nothing to do with him all over the media telling people to get 2 or 3 weeks worth though.

I was just pointing out why some people will still go to the pub. I know people who are self employed who have just been nipping in for a meal after work.

The local with 5 or 10 people in is a lot safer than a supermarket at the moment.
Correct. It is impossible to keep your distance when shopping at the moment. And you come into contact with an untold amount of people each time you enter.

And how many knowingly have the virus but go shopping because they need to eat or wipe their arse and haven't been able to get what they want.

The spread will continue as long as Governments veil delay tactics by issuing ‘instructions’ that even the thickest tosser knows won’t be followed by the public. Then later deciding to close facilities when it’s too fucking late.

It’s only when the market started crashing that we suddenly find trillions to throw at the problem

The people they infect in the pub? They can’t complain as they’ve chosen to go to the pub?
So you go to the pub, pick up covid 19 (but that’s was your choice so fine), it will now be a few days before you get symptoms but you will still be contagious. You can pass it on to anyone you contact during that period. They didn’t go to the pub, they just happened to put their hand on something you infected, scratched their nose, and caught it that way. But that’s ok, because you got your pint.

Seriously, it’s not rocket science and you can deny it all you want but if you were having this conversation with the CMO who do you think he’d agree with?

Great, so as long as I only go to the pub and nowhere else I’m fine. Sounds like a plan.

France has been shut since last weekend. The borders are open but only if you have a very good reason.

That is what I have been saying. You need to fill out a form before travelling anywhere. Not many places are allowed to open. You are only allowed to go to one of the places that are allowed to open. You must go on the most direct route. Go shopping alone.

If I lived in France full time I could get to be with the wife and kids. But then I wouldn't be allowed to leave.
Same for me. I really needed to be in the Ukraine this week but I could possibly end up stuck there (not recommended). To get back into Hungary (despite residence, work, family) I need to email all my documents and reasons for return to the police and they would eventually make a decision on a case-by-case basis.

What happens if somebody catches it at one of these? Is everybody wiping trolleys? Is everybody wiping everything they pick up that others have just picked up?

Again, instead of everybody making out that somebody going for a pint is a murderer. Sort the above out.

Yet it's cunts like this getting everybody worked up:

Still, as long as he has a rant about a pub it's fine. Cunts like this scaremongering need to be sorted and supermarkets need sorting before people start worrying about pubs.

Heartbreaking decision but if you need to work to survive you would probably have to take the risk.

Well done. Grendel has won.
This is the problem many are ignoring. Millions need to work to survive. And until something is put in place to help they will still have to work to survive.

I have no choice. I have self quarantined myself so I can continue working. I need to continue so those bulk buying bog rolls have something to bulk buy.

Firstly, no one is saying panic buying is great.

Secondly, can’t make this any simpler: Food. Is. Essential. Beer. Is. Not.

I even included a tweet of somebody encouraging it. It's the hysteria being whipped up.

Yes I get people need to eat, that is clearly not the point being made is it?

People are obsessing about how others going into a pub are going to kill old people, meanwhile there's hundreds of people queuing up outside supermarkets, touching trolleys, picking things up others have put down, scrambling to get things etc.

Firstly, it's not about it being safer, it's about what is most necessary and restricting the less necessary things to limit the rate of infection.. Secondly, you are comparing a worse case supermarket situation with a best case pub situation to suit your argument.. I've seen plenty of supermarkets that weren't overly busy and several people have said pubs have been busy and even busier than normal.

.

I don't know what is most amazing, how those people couldn't see what was happening or that they have the audacity to chose a new hill to die on each passing day and continue to be wrong while maintaining a tone of condescension.

Not at all. You put yourself at risk as has anyone else in the pub. Personal choice.
Huh course he shouldn’t do you understand it’s not his health at risk it’s everyone else he has come into contact with, does contact and will contact. Daventry road shops are rammed as always. What are pepople missing in the stories from Italy and Spain. This things kills people ffs

The problem many have is they haven't thought out how bad lockdown is. And some say it should have happened before people got the virus.

No visiting family. Especially not the vulnerable ones. Not even able to take your dog for a walk. Not even being able to go for a walk where nobody else will be.

Life stops. I have been doing it for a week now. My job where I work is very important. I am ready to work 7 days a week when others can't get in. There is 1 person a shift doing my job. I live alone in England so know what it is like to have nobody around. I enjoy my own company. But how many weeks/months could I cope with it? Then think how many single people there is in the UK.

People being pricks at the supermarket doesn’t alter the fact that we need food to survive and doesn’t justify going to the pub. It has nothing to do with it. I have and will go to the shops because I and my family need food, I won’t go to the pub because it would increase the chances of me getting infected and transmitting it to my family (and others) for no valid reason.

Our family income depends largely on people going to the pub and the fallout from this is highly likely to affect it once the dust settles. So you could say that people not going to the pub is likely to affect me more than you, but even so. It’s the right thing to do.

Even the pub companies are splitting staff between field based (and likely to catch something in the pubs they have to work in) and office based. They aren’t allowed to do both because they don’t want field-based staff infecting the back-office staff. Doe that tell you anything?

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody gets attacked for leaving their house and Coronavirus Rage becomes a thing.[/QUOTE]
attacked for being outside their home by someone outside their home? Thats a tough one to get my head around.

You selfish prick.

If your wife worked in a supermarket would you ban her as she’s clearly a huge risk to older people’s lives

Nick, you are merging two different issues here, the need to shop to eat with panic buying.

Not been in a supermarket that isn't busy for days. Even M&S was busy. Which one do you go to?

It isn't me merging it.

I fully understand that people NEED to eat, people don't NEED to queue up for hours every day in their hundreds though do they? Acting like packs of wolves when the doors open.

I am just pointing out that at the minute, because of the behaviour that is allowed to go on in supermarkets there is more chance of getting infected in those. Yet if somebody goes to a pub they are murdering their granny.

At the moment, there's a lot of focus on closing pubs and people who go in them. Somebody unneedingly queuing up with their hands on a trolley for an hour with hundreds of others is fine though.
