I’m thinking of going on a run every morning and night too, not sure if that would be allowed during a lockdown mind.... the thought of being inside the same house all day every day is mad!

plus the psychological benefits of exercise are proven and real- you’d feel way better after some mindless physical exercise. Honestly- you would. And long as you’re not up close to anyone you’d be ok to go for a run at this stage wouldn’t you? You can here and we’ve been on lockdown for a while now.

Was just on Facebook- the sheer number of people out drinking, ramming pubs, laughing about “the super flu” and basically telling people to fuck off if they say anything is just unreal. This is a huge part of why we’re on course to be worse than Italy.
Is that in Ireland or over here?

This is 40 years of rampant individualism, "There's no such thing as society". Tory wankers.

Which is why people making out going to the pub is killing people has encouraged it.

Pretty obvious.

No it’s not that. Going by the comments they have no issue with the rule, they are all saying “just one night before it starts” as if it’s a going away party or something.

The Broomfield in Cov apparently as well

A lot of it is to do with that. If people hadn't been acting as if people going for a pint are serial killers they wouldn't be posting up pictures.

Look at the replies piers Morgan gets when he keeps trying to get people worked up.

Its ok though, the pubs will be closed so I assume the people queuing at supermarkets will be the next target to be labelled killers?

this about sums it up:
“If it is as serious as everyone says it is, they would have shut the pubs immediately”

Don’t intend on reading all 160 pages but thought I’d appear and say to the original poster who asked ‘do you think Coronavirus will scupper our season’ to which I replied ‘i think you might be overthinking this’ I’m sorry!
Seems it’s not just football seasons that are fooked , but the whole fooking world!

Piers Morgan gets abuse because he’s a c*nt. You’re obsessed with this point for some unknown reason.

Yes, because people have made put that anybody who walks in a pub is instantly killing 10 old people. No fuss about other occurrences of people all being together when not needed.

Hence people are playing up to it now.

Because it's pretty straight forward. You have been banging on about if somebody goes to a pub they are killing people while defending people queuing for hours when they don't need to because they need to eat.

He has been banging on about the same shit so gets replies of photos of people in a pub.

Stop exaggerating.
I'm really not, read back through the way some have been going on.

Its no wonder people play up to it, Christ I've been sending one of my mates old pictures from being in the pub because his reaction is so over the top and pathetic.

It should have been about educating people, not making out they are going to end the world for everybody.

that just means that the people who are going to pubs are also c*unts, it doesn’t invalidate the advice that was given out. And nobody has said that people in pubs are going to “instantly kill 10 old people”, you’re exaggerating.

well actually to be fair I don’t know if anyone said those exact words but it’s patently not true, you have a point if they said exactly that. Stupid, foolhardy, risky, selfish yes.

me too Dom! I spent a day ‘working from home’ and hated it! Had to go out this eve for a run mainly for some fresh air but more own sanity! :emoji_laughing:

Only conversation was a ‘alright’ to a couple of dog walkers and a ‘thank you’ when a walker let me go first! On top of one walker who looked a little weirded out at seeing a runner and stopped on a random drive way until I’d passed :emoji_joy:
Think it’ll be the same in the morning to start my day off!!

Have a look through at the reaction.. Yet if you mention people going ott at supermarkets who would be much more at risk of spreading things it becomes "well they need to eat". People on the tube crammed in and on top of each other as well.

Then you are wondering why people are posting pictures of themselves with a beer after the witch hunt.

to be honest a lot of it seems to be sheer ignorance, unbelievable as that may seem. It also seems symptomatic of the country as a whole, everything split down the middle, you’re in one camp or the other and no compromise or listening

none of these people on the FB thread know who I am and I don’t know whether to wade in and make some new ‘friends’ :)

I’m not sure I get this train of thought.

I don’t think anyone is saying that people going for a pint are serial killers but what they are saying is that they are putting people at an unnecessary risk due to how contagious and easily spread this virus is.

It might not be you, it might not be your mate but it might be someone who touches the same door handle who then gives it someone, who gives it elderly parents etc.

Sitting in the boozer for 7 hours isn’t a necessity, going the shops for an hour and stocking up to feed your family is.

Yes people keep saying but I'm not on about people just buying food.

Queing up before they even open isn't a necessity. Rushing about like it's the end of the world isn't a necessity.

Of course, if people touch the same handle in a pub they might get it. Read back through the thread and you would think pubs are the only places where it can be passed on.

People are literally making out that if you go to the pub you are going to kill somebody. Of course going to the pub isn't a necessity but I find it strange how people think queueing up with hundreds of others, touching dirty trolleys, picking things up in the shop that others will have touched etc is necessity.

All of the fuss and anger in general seems to be about people going to the pub. There will be hundreds of other places with door handles that aren't necessary and will be much higher risk.

Are people telling those going in Primark they will kill their nan? Course not.

But it’s about limiting these occurrences? Simple as that.

The whole ‘but but they’re doing it Sir’ doesn’t wash. Just limit social contact as much as possible. Whether it is the pub, workplace, dog walking groups, getting your hair done or dogging in the woods. Just not worth it.

I would have thought then that the ‘powers that be’ need to get a grip of the situation in the shops. Was in Tesco earlier and it’s not the best comparison as the numbers are smaller & it’s not here as much yet, but they had some guy wiping tills down after every purchase, red lines to mark 2m gaps between people in queues, plastic tube-type things for all the trolley handles, plastic gloves on the entrance and 3 security guys watching to make sure nobody took the piss or kicked off. Not exactly same situation here and I’ve no doubt at all that when the numbers start to increase here it’ll be just the same situation, but at least they’re trying, is any of that happening over there at all?

Of course limit it. My point is more about all the abuse of people going for a pint and making out they will kill people.

Yet when there's hundreds queuing up to get in Asda tomorrow it will be fine.

I'd love for them to get a grip of it. I don't doubt some shops will be on top of it.

My point is that there's hysteria and shame if somebody goes for a pint but this is necessary?

Remember about a week ago when I said the same thing about France?

It isn't a UK thing. Both governments came out with a plan. But many refuse to listen. Then comes the shutdown of life as we know it. This takes the decisions to be made off those who won't listen. Everyone else suffers the consequences of the few.

Even with the country in shutdown many in France still refuse to listen. Thousands have been hit with fines. They have lost the freedom to do what they want. They can walk a dog 50 metres from their home. Otherwise once a day they can go to a shop of their choice. Not much more. And we will be the same very soon because of those who think they can do as they like.
