But it’s about limiting these occurrences? Simple as that.

The whole ‘but but they’re doing it Sir’ doesn’t wash. Just limit social contact as much as possible. Whether it is the pub, workplace, dog walking groups, getting your hair done or dogging in the woods. Just not worth it.
And let's be honest it is very very very easy these days to replicate social contact remotely.

Remember about a week ago when I said the same thing about France?

It isn't a UK thing. Both governments came out with a plan. But many refuse to listen. Then comes the shutdown of life as we know it. This takes the decisions to be made off those who won't listen. Everyone else suffers the consequences of the few.

Even with the country in shutdown many in France still refuse to listen. Thousands have been hit with fines. They have lost the freedom to do what they want. They can walk a dog 50 metres from their home. Otherwise once a day they can go to a shop of their choice. Not much more. And we will be the same very soon because of those who think they can do as they like.

here’s a classic from someone putting up pictures of them in a packed pub in knowle

“you can all fuck off because we’re not at risk and we are isolating all weekend before I go back to work so we can’t infect anyone”

Of course limit it. My point is more about all the abuse of people going for a pint and making out they will kill people.

Yet when there's hundreds queuing up to get in Asda tomorrow it will be fine.

Oh nick ffs stop being so stupidly obtuse.
People are going to shop for essentials, end of. The pub isn't essential and generally means more prolonged social contact. The problem is that there is scarcity in the supermarkets whereas you don't get that in the pub which leads to these behaviours.

It isn't necessary to queue for hours before a shop opens.

People clearly aren't just shopping for essentials at the minute, hence the shops are being gutted.

I'm talking about how the behaviour im on about seems to be accepted even though there's more chance of infection and also isn't necessary.

Supermarkets are the new graphs
I think they are better, they seem to be places of immunity and only pubs can spread germs.

Bet there's no chance of anything been spread here with this necessary behaviour.

If somebody coughs in a pub then somebody will die but that cuntishness is going to go on for days.

What I don’t get is the whole issue over the ‘pub’ like it is the holy grail of Britishness. And I say that from a guy who has sat in the boozer pretty much every weekend for the past 20 odd years.

I’d say the same about yoga classes, book clubs and everything in between.

This isn’t the time to fight petty arguments. Give it up, go home, stay there and then in a few months we can all go back to being the ballbags that we are.

But in the meantime let’s try to stop people dying eh?

I don't know, maybe it's the fashion to jump on and abuse people going to pubs yet hundreds do lots of things along those lines and no issues.

How much could it spread when somebody is 5 hours getting shopping?

Why are you playing one off the other? It isn’t a competition.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, should be doing their part but it is going to take people dying, or their family dying, or their friends family dying to take this serious.

Which when we look back will be utterly incomprehensible.

The problem is that the vast majority are panicking too much or don't seem to give a toss.

What is needed is a level head and proper thought. I put myself into lockdown a week ago. It will do me good. All work no play. Relax on days off. Have an extended stay with wife and kids when it is finally over.

Time they started doing home delivery .
Soon breaks.
We can't get home deliveries from the 2 biggest chains here as fully booked for at least 3 weeks ahead and no guarantee your order will be filled when the delivery arrives.

Did anyone hear the Andros Townsend statement on TalkSPORT about the reasons the Premier League season has to be played out? It started out very reasonable talking about European qualification, relegation etc, then really let himself down by mentioning the payment of salaries and bonuses!

If any player is worried about the payment of a bonus due to the crisis then they should be embarrassed when other staff at their clubs who work on turnstiles etc are losing all their income.

Yeah I think a mature head got a certain sector of society ahead of the curve where humanly possible , outside of work commitments.

Why is it important if people agree with you? Doesn’t mean your view is any less valid than anyone else’s just because they don’t agree with you, it’s just as valid- it’s a football forum full of bored, mildly stressed & frustrated football fans, not a WHO think tank

I disagree, we are a community forum that follows the occasional game of football, the armchair fans have been in training for decades.

I’m thinking of going on a run every morning and night too, not sure if that would be allowed during a lockdown mind.... the thought of being inside the same house all day every day is mad!

will it matter if you go early/late when there's no one around?
Said on another thread I've done something to my ankle so running out but I assumed I'd be OK to go for a long walk to stretch the legs and get some fresh air, is that not the case?

But you look for something to bash even when there is an offer of covering 80% of wages.

This shouldn't be about propaganda. Boris is a twat. Agreed. But it shouldn't be a party political broadcast for the Labour party.

my thoughts on this. I’m not sure anyone would be able to do a better job given the circumstances.

Boris Is the only show in town.

It’s not as if we can have another election is it?

JC is sitting at home. He will always take an adversarial view ( Also from a distance). He’s just doing it at the TV nowadays.

DA is probably doing the same because she doesn’t know how old she is or ran out of digits. 58 fingers ago.

j Mc Will be satisfied that everything is going fine with the Labour Leadership race.

Rees Mogg is probably self in self isolation still. His election campaign started the ball rolling.

Boris’ dad will be standing on the pub doorstep demanding he has a drink.

Theresa will be sitting at home thinking...when can I go to church again?

The others are likely taking a deep breath and wondering when the Conservative government is going to become totalitarian again. Good luck picking that one to pieces...

A lot of it is to do with that. If people hadn't been acting as if people going for a pint are serial killers they wouldn't be posting up pictures.

Look at the replies piers Morgan gets when he keeps trying to get people worked up.

Its ok though, the pubs will be closed so I assume the people queuing at supermarkets will be the next target to be labelled killers?
They need to at least be labelled idiots for sure.

I see any big queue to get in and I just turn on my heels.

I suppose you could leave all the food rammed into your cupboards and brand new chest freezer to someone in your will couldn't you.

We have home deliveries.

So many items missing from the order and loads of substitutions.(football is alive).

I think they are gearing up for community emergencies. The 10-6am closure may be a hint.

Or they could be simply stocking up of course. I just heard there is a recruitment campaign at all Food retailers.

Well it's me birthday.
What a f**kin time.
Running out of ciggies and ale .
:-(
Happy Birthday, Wingy

birthday in two weeks, Wingy.

Worst for me, because it's my wife's birthday on the same day and I usually try my very best to avoid her, but this year it is going to be impossible, because we are both going to be stuck in.

Just wondering if now might be a good time to kill her and blame it on the Coronavirus.

TBH all I’ve seen is panic. Pick your time and join the masses.

To be fair, I have been moaning about people going to pubs AND about queuing at supermarkets.

Same shitaboutery really. The government should have closed the pubs thought not have just suggested that people don't go.

Many are, Nick. I've heard many people say they just want the essentials and even though they don't want to queue, they feel they have had to.

Crazy days
