Truly awful. Imagine what it'll be tomorrow and the day after and this time next week.

I fear we will be up at those levels before long.

Agree. Will almost certainly be a lot higher here thats for sure. If people follow the rules/measures hopefully we can keep it below. Fingers crossed !

Jesus. Haven't they been in lockdown for a couple of weeks now?

Its their culture and many households have 3 baybe 4 generations living in close proximity thus more chance of the old folks getting infected and dying.

I'm no doctor but what the fuck is going on in Italy? They've been lockdown for 2 weeks and its just going up and up. Massively concerning

The deaths include people who died who had CV but maybe did not die from it.
Spain is getting worse and worse, the UK should have locked down over the last week.

Of course the U.K. should have, it’s only a couple of people on here looking for attention and being stupid that don’t seem to agree.

Which same people?

Its like the assumption only pubs seem to be infectious the way some people are going on.

No. The people that are going shopping to hoard stuff and panic buy are just as much cunts as those in the pub, as they have no need to be there. However, people do still need food and supplies and so some will have a very legitimate reason for having to do it. Unless they're wheeling around a trolley stacked to the gills with bog roll it can be difficult to distinguish who is a c**t and who isn't

However, no-one has a NEED to be in the pub.

Thus SOME people at supermarkets are selfish cunts. ALL people in the pub are selfish cunts.

You are absolutely 100% correct but sadly you're wasting your breath. Nick just does not get it.

Mate just sent me picture of the army on the streets in Dublin. Is that happening in your neck of the woods ROS?

No, thankfully none of that down in Cork- I had to go get a prescription quickly and it is a bit surreal- masks everywhere and people queuing up 2m apart to enter the supermarkets. Very quiet and strange, but no army.

I hadn’t heard that about Dublin but I’ll fire a text and see what’s going on up there

They’re standing by and being very visible to deter any looting & gang related activity that night start, with the police & emergency services preoccupied.

What about the boozers they have re-opened?

Tbh there is always going to be a lag as the illness lasts a little while, like I said earlier in the thread you might see deaths rising while infections fall at some point.
Yeah, fair point. Hopefully they peak very soon and it starts going the other way. Absolutely horrific.

An Italian doctor just said that the people in Italy ignored the lockdown. It was 3 weeks ago. The message from her to the UK is stay at home. In the beginning they continued their routines and ignored any advice. She says We need to use all the precautions (we already know about).
The presenter said we aware about 2 weeks behind Italy. It should be on again at about 7:20 pm C4 +1

this gives the impression that some cities here are going to be in deep trouble before long. I hope not.

South America is also clamping down. Peru in particular.

Not sure if this has been posted but a couple of bits of positive news today. Deal with private sector for 20k staff, 8k beds and ventilators. Also, priority testing for nhs staff in the deal with private sector (which is about time and great news)

ps not corona based but Diego Maradona docufilm on C4 at 9pm tonight

We've been over my annoyance that this is a deal and not just a requisition in a national emergency but agreed this is good news.

It’s positive about the resources but having to go through the motions of “doing a deal” to get them is a disgrace.

Given that Some young people don’t seem to get it either I think the list is going to be pretty long

The penny has finally dropped with my M—I-L . She is now scared instead of nipping over to Holyhead Road Morrison’s she now realises she is at major risk.

Like I said in another dimension, I didn’t appreciate what we need to do to stay safe.
