I remember that lob. It was a ridiculous angle had Oggy back peddling in vain. Think it was a last minute winner too.He got a few against us- there was one lob for Arsenal against us from about 30 yards out on the right wing, and that goal for Villa in 2001

Marcus Bentdner when on loan at Birmingham at the Ricoh
First season at the Ricoh on a Tuesday night? They had a great team that year and went up
More recently I remember Grealish running the game on loan at Notts County, we lost 3-0 and he looked wayyyy above the level.
Gazza- Newcastle at home 1987/1988
he was clearly overweight but nobody could get anywhere near him, he did whatever he wanted, completely ran the game as they won 3-1
End of thread. Went to this game to see the first Brazilian in English football (Mirandinah) and was completely dumbstruck by how some young kid I've never heard of destroyed us. To be sure I've never seen anyone orchestrate a game like he did on that occasion. To this day my dad thinks he is one of football's lost greatest talent scouts after he spotted Gascoigne running the game about 10minutes before I did.
Jimmy Bullard playing for Wigan at the Ricoh the season they were promoted from the championship in which they equalised in the last minutes to make it one all and it felt as bad as a loss.

I saw Mirandina play. Was it 3-1? I thought we lost 0-1 and Mirandina scored a pen?End of thread. And he was more or less a done deal to be sold on the moment we signed him.we sold him to buy Robbie Keane

Gazza played?!?!
Salami and Armstrong destroyed us that night 1-4John Salako had a storming game for palace the season before we signed him (I think).
Hmmm, how did I miss that game? Thanks for the update.Coventry City v Newcastle United, 24 October 1987
Mirandina did score a penalty the following season:-
Coventry City v Newcastle United, 11 February 1989
The two best saves I've seen at HR was Shiltons in that game, how he got to it god only knows as I was right behind it. The other Bill Glaziers full length save versus Bayern Munich in the return leg , was it 1971.Peter Shilton when Forest won league at HR. I think someone has already said Neville Southall but I remember a 1-0 loss at HR when he stopped everything including a deflected header from Terry Gibson where he changed direction to tip it over the bar. First time I saw Rio Ferdinand he played as a right back for West Ham and he was unstoppable that day.
There was a 0-0 (league cup) game against Norwich about ‘81 when theNorwich keeper (back up if I remember) made a save similar to the one Banks made against Pele in the world cup. We won the replay ay NorwichThe two best saves I've seen at HR was Shiltons in that game, how he got to it god only knows as I was right behind it. Peter Shilton always had a blinder against us, as he did against most sides
