It’s a good thing as long as they vet people
Sister was with a couple of patients who died today at university hospital. Lots of fear and tears on the staff. No one knows what to do or what’s safe. Bless them all
Oh ok. Sorry for jumping down your throat. We have 3 lear repair guys who work with us in the off track and they were told not to come to work last night. We were fuming when our management basically ignored us and expected us to carry on as usual. Something had to give.
Whitley stores are working still
Yeah, to be honest exponential growth of what was or maybe still is a 'luxury' brand does not feel realistic even in the normal economic cycle. Now, it really doesn't look good.

The economic effects of this are going to be monumental. Despite having a Tory government they’re going to have to do the unthinkable and nationalise key industry or at least take a stake in them, not just to survive the next few months but the impending recession/depression.
The uk government already underwrote loans for JLR which is why electric car production is going ahead at castle brom (xj, j pace and road rover). JLR is a small player on the global market but there is strength in that; I wouldn’t want to be Ford or VW in these times. There will always be a market for Land Rover and the marque does still carry weight, Jaguar is and has long been a problem although with emission standards there may be a resurgence in low profile electric cars.
Personally think the range needs rationalising and through this an improvement in quality - make less better.
left field but a nationalisation of the uk car industry could be possible especially with Vauxhall’s also in serious trouble.
now onto the sky blues
I thought stores was shut today. Parts of site open though.

It's amazing how in a couple of months it's gone from nationalising all the rail franchises being a loony, unaffordable idea is now a very real proposition. But of course being done to protect the franchises, so again it's nationalising losses and then letting the franchises take back over when they can make money again. If they can't afford to run in times of crisis they shouldn't be allowed to run it in times of plenty.
And now he's showing his colours by talking about getting the economy restarted - they haven't even got to the peak yet. But fuck the American people, the almighty $$$ must take precedence.
Also saying 'it's gonna be bad'. Like everyone told him weeks ago and he was calling it fake news. followed by it's gonna be over soon. But now he's found a way to use it to be racist and call out China he seems OK with it in reality. And perhaps if he hadn't cut all funding from crisis management (which he of course denied doing) it might be a bit better.
I'd laugh if he wasn't such a dangerous halfwit with so much power. If anything has shown inheriting massive wealth, power and influence is not a good idea it must be him.
Still, they've been out to buy their guns so at least they can shoot the virus away. Although I don't know the details of the bill the dems voted down, I really hope it's not a case of playing politics.
Johnson and Trump, ridiculed by the world for their lying & incompetence, now also facing worldwide criticism for their awful responses to the coronavirus. As always though, they won’t suffer any consequences, the people in their countries will.
Even Darren Grimes is turning on Johnson now. That’s the thing about these right wing/ conservative types- their whole lives are built upon greed, selfishness and self above society, so they soon start putting the knife into each other’s backs as soon as the going gets hot.Trumps cronies, considering they're supposed to be fervently pro life are showing a very wreckless attitude towards people surviving this pandemic if it' means the economy suffering.
Strange bunch.

The markets are odd. Wall Street had its best day for nearly 100 years today
Boris Johnson isn’t right wing - he’s a liberal - sometimes you seem like a sixth form debating society team member
Because Trump values the stock market more than his own people
No that's Sunak
Not really it’s nothing to do with that as the economic outlook in the States is not great at all - I just think it’s plunged such depths that it’s going to now attract speculators
Whatever you think of Johnson he is a liberal - he’s far more Clegg than Thatcher or May
He has ploughed trillions into the stock market to keep it going but he has not ploughed anything like that to keep Americans a) healthy and b) financially viable
