Agree with the sentiment though.
The reason footballers get the attention is that they are obviously well known to the public. My thoughts are that if a club is considering furloughing non playing staff they should see if an agreed cut in players salaries (to cover the non playing staff monthly wage cost) could be agreed first.
I’d expect the same from other organisations ie extremely well paid bosses (earning millions a year) taking a 10-20% cut if it meant not having to use the furlough scheme or make redundancies
The wage structures/pyramids are quite unique in (top tier/premier league) football clubs so not sure it’s easy to replicate in other industries but I’d expect similar efforts
ps anyone know if Levy is taking a wage cut ?
