Exactly. How does cancelling the season mean impact 'days away from going bust'? If anything it will be worse financially as they will have to hand back a portion of season ticket money, TV contracts etc. Not to mention the possibility of lawsuits to claim back money spent on games that were supposed to be competitive but have retrospectively been made meaningless.
Doesn't make sense to me, suspect its just a case of Sky running out of things to talk about.

Perhaps it's because sky won't have the games and ifollow will? Bit of muck throwing from sky? Or just stupityExactly.
And surely by playing more matches it generates more income? Even if it is just through TV sales?
This is the reason the season needs to be ended PPG. Now. Immediately.
I’d hate to see some clubs relegated on the back of admin. If they go into admin and survive they should start with -10 or -15 wherever they are. But they should not stop us going up.
There may even be some further problems with the Championship so better to end the season on merit rather than voiding games.
Not forgetting that we may be one of the clubs in trouble....fair chance but for the transfer revenue.
Yep. It’s nonsense. But how does that help their situation? They still have no income before next season and when that starts they still won't be allowed fans in the ground. So what they need are games played in front of crowds. Whether those games relate to this season or next is irrelevant.

Is that a guess re happening in England or have you read something about it?The Scottish leagues have now ended apart from Prem and Champs and relegation places set. They simply had to do it so the clubs could get there league prize money . It will happen now in the Leagues in England . Apart from Prem
I think it could happen in the PL too, the smaller clubs will soon kick up a fuss, they don’t have infinite amounts of money. The Scottish leagues have now ended apart from Prem and Champs and relegation places set. How Much Prize Money For Winning L2? | Vital Plymouth Argyle
Was looking for the prize money for winning the league. Can only find this from a quick Google. Seems there is no extra cash for finishing top. In terms of league one prize money.
Haven't UEFA said if local federations end their leagues early they will lose their Champions League and Europa League places?

But we all know nothing happens without the approval of the Prem as they just threaten to end solidarity payments. Would also need their agreement on promotion and relegation.Think that only applies to the top leagues?

Also if you cancel the Championship, L1 and L2 but the Prem say they are going to complete the season then you have seasons out of sync with each other. Opens up a whole can of worms.
Maybe its just the case that in Scotland the TV deals have little value so they'd rather receive the prize money and have to hand back any TV money & season ticket money. Not sure its as easy as just saying end the season and giving out money.
How does cancelling the season help clubs in financial trouble? Surely these clubs would rather restart the season, so as to bring some much needed income in.
