Not sure I’ve put this out there before but in our conversation with Ms Seppala and Mr Boddy it was pretty clear that the Efl’s major principle was keeping an existing football club and to help our club and others of course to identify solutions to make this possible rather than add challenges to limit solutions

That will certainly help. But there's already a growing fear that not enough kits will be available to clubs. Hardly fills you with confidence.

We could wear some of our old kits if we run out of the current ones :woot:

It's unlikely that millions will go back to work anytime soon though and those that do will be forced to action serious social distancing in order to work safely. Something that cannot be replicated on a football pitch. Does he not watch the news - or maybe he's been drooling over Trump's press conferences whilst cooped up in his Miami home for a bit too long?

The bloke is genuinely a dodgy dance away from being the EFL's very own David Brent.

Really? Plenty of people are going back to work.

I have and some of my mates have. Have a look at how many tradesmen are going to suppliers.

Again, let's not get into the "If you play football you are going to kill your gran" nonsense.

McAnthony is no better than the Accrington owner tbh on this. Our views just align more with his because of our position.

They’ve got a chance of going up, have already lost Maddison and will also lose Toney for a pittance of what they budgeted for if the season is void

There is probably a tipping point at which the Government have to balance economic interests against public health interests. It is not feasible that they can cover the costs of people not working in the long term, without it having a grave impact on us all in the future, which in turn will impact on people's physical and mental health, and associated needs. No country can afford to be economically inactive for an extended period, and our Government must have forecasters in their ear advising them of what is the finite time for which we can keep the country in a lockdown state. The only thing is that tipping point will be a closely guarded secret, so none of us will know. Anyhow, to keep this to football, as pointed out if other 'non essential' businesses are to operate then why shouldn't football?

In my opinion the games get played or it’s void.

France are looking at PPG but the difference from here is that there’s nothing riding on the games in hand. PSG have to play Strasbourg who are safe from relegation and in Ligue 2 every club has played the same amount

PPG is the only fair way it can be done they cant void it they know there will be legal cases from every angle.

Everything comes down to money

We managed the war for 6 years...

We can last as long as we choose in reality.

Are you unaware that a slight lifting of restrictions in Germany has seen cases increase again? Just because people have started doing things doesn't mean it's right or that it won't lead to problems in the coming weeks.

Playing football isn't worse than that (and will probably get way more protection/testing than the average worker) but it's still a potential disease spreader. Especially when you consider football is a job involving much closer contact than most jobs.

It seems absolutely mental to me that nothing was already in place to dictate the protocol should a season be called with a significant amount of games played.

If there had just been something in the charter stating that 70%< of the season played is enough for final standing and there would be a lot less headaches. It's not like this is the first pandemic in history or even the first even that has massively disrupted the football season.

I'm hearing that although the clubs would like to finish the season the number of factors against doing so are likely to torpedo any chance
Not least of the problems is players whose contracts expire at the end of June. Some clubs just can't afford to pay them with no income
And a huge number of tests will be needed which won't come cheap
If the games aren't played the consensus seems to be that divisions should be decided on merit but exactly how that will work isn't clear yet
Might be the least worst news for us

There is very little chance of the League 1 and 2 seasons being finished. Those clutching at straws about articles talking about the PL are deluding themselves that it’ll apply to us.

I’d imagine it would be PPG calculated separately for home and away.

I don’t get these people saying cancel the season, what’s the point? If the season can’t restart in June then restart it when it can.
You get people saying cancel this season and just build and wait for next season to start in September - well the situation won’t be any different in September to it is now, other than there possibly will be less deaths etc. The risk will still be there! Covid -19 isn’t going away, it never will not even with a vaccination. Sure the vaccination will control the numbers slightly and the hope is that there will be better medication to deal with the complications but like the common flu, we will have people die from it ever year.
So we either have to learn to accept that and adapt or rip up our lives completely and become hermits and not leave our houses under fear we might catch something. Ultimately Covid-19 is a strain of Coronavirus, Coronaviruses have been around forever attacking and killing us but we haven’t ran and hid from them.

I have my suspicions plans are there should we be unable to re-start come June probably around contracts, as has been said what’s the difference re-starting again in June to August, September or even October for that matter. The belief by UEFA that European competitions will soon happen is fanciful, jetting around Europe for football is months away and I think they know it deaths need to drop dramatically for that to start again. It’s already been mentioned the Olympic Games re-scheduled for 2021 are in doubt there’s going to be huge changes to what has been the norm especially on the sporting front.
On the home football front probably below the Prem at first i think the league competitions could be re-jigged, that’s been mentioned already where that leaves us who knows.
In my opinion we will witness big changes on the sporting front especially football.

You need to advise the government I’ll bet they’ve not thought of it
