So I’ve been looking for a club to support for years. I’m not from the UK so I don’t have any ties. I have my bouts with ADD which makes me quite indecisive. I’ve also had my fair share of impulsive actions trying to follow various clubs. Anyway to this point I haven’t found a club that I felt I could support long term, I’d always lose interest for some reason. I find Coventry City intriguing. Simply said I like the colours of the club and the Sky Blues have huge potential with its fan base and current position. I know the owners have been a problem for years, but I’m wondering what the current outlook is amongst fans? And what’s it like supporting this club? Thanks for your time. Stay safe. On the pitch there’s been some success recently but it won’t get better than relegation fights in the championship unless the stadium situation is sorted out. Someone else can explain that to you

Incredible club with great spirit.

We have had many disappointments but a club with real pride. I think in 34 years in top league , we were in danger of relegation about 12 times going into the last day of the season . Some truly incredible escapes in 77, 85 and 97. Its been very tough since our relegation in 2001 in the lower leagues and as your rightly pointed out, the current owners have been a problem.

Take a look from about 2 minutes to 19 minutes , especially at the 18 minute mark. This shows what my Sky Blues are capable of and how special we are.

A word of warning, I think we have about the worst points per game record since second world war, I'm a bit of a 'statto' !

It’s likely we will never win the Premiership or even challenge the top end of that division but we are a club on the up and our fan base is strong, loyal and realistic. Can't you all see what's happening? After our recent success over the last couple of seasons we are now ripe for glory supporters to start jumping on board. Most of us here have been with the club for years and years with so many low points along the way. I think we should be interviewing Jay and asking what are they going to bring to the party? Things like how many ST will you buy? Will you buy the full kit and wear it to every away game without washing it in between? Will you stick with us if another hedge fund buys us out? We shouldn't need to sell our club to potential fans, it's a given it should be first choice for anyone looking. PUSB.

All I can say is when you’ve been supporting us for a while (40+ years in my case), seasons like the last one, sorry - current one - mean a damn sight more to us than winning the prem does to your average Man U fan. Of that, I am certain.

We’ve been a joy to watch this year and have played football the way most of us fans think it should be, i.e. on the floor, passing game with some moves that start with the ‘keeper and end up in their net. If you jump on board now, current weird situation aside, we are a club on an upwards trajectory. Sort the ground situation out (big if there), add a couple of astute signings (entirely possible given our recent recruitment) and it could be quite an interesting few years.

I’ve managed to turn my son into a full-on Sky Blue, despite him being born and raised in Birmingham (if you’re a fan of the Simpsons think Springfield / Shelbyville) and he’s been to Wembley twice, watched us get promoted at least once and hopefully seen us win a league, albeit unconventionally.

If you’d been around for the previous 3 years you’d have enjoyed yourself. Sure of that.

Don't do it!

The highs are magnificent, the lows are more frequent although somehow the highs seem worth it. I feel bad for getting my family hooked, now a City defeat feels like a family death.

If you're enjoying supporting everyone but no one, tgen stick with that. No need to nail your colours to a mast and you can enjoy a game more objectively than through sky blue tinted specs.

It sways your betting patterns because you want them to win, they cost further more of your hard earned feeling that you must attend every game, sometimes out of duty more than fun and you find yourself checking the fixture list even before you commit to a night out or a weekend away.

It's a sick disease of which there is no cure!

When I started playing and following football in the late 70s as a kid it was fashionable to support Man Utd and Spurs as my childhood friends were inclined to do. Coventry was quite a random and unfashionable pick for me, but one which I've stuck with for the better part of 40+ years now in spite of the friendly teasing. But how wonderful was it to gloat in the face of those around me in '87 when we won the FA Cup. That was priceless.

I've always been a fan of the underdog and that's probably why I have a fondness for Coventry. The team has endured highs and lows including spending the better part of 3 decades in the top flight before dropping to the depths of League 2 in the not too distant past. But this is a team on the upward trajectory with a great management team (although the same cannot be said of the owners). Yet, I am hopeful that things will improve for the long suffering fans and that we do start the 20-21 season in the Championship. Hopefully with a place i the Championship it will entice a new owner with deep pockets to bankroll the team for a run at the Premiership. I believe there is huge potential for the club especially if it returns to playing in Coventry in front of its large and loyal fan base. It would be nice to finally return to the Premiership where we were one of the inaugural members. We've had some memorable wins over the likes of Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and maybe I'll get to see Coventry play those teams again in the top flight someday in my lifetime.

No, unfortunately not. My first trip to the UK was in the summer of last year, but I was part of a tour group that visited the famous sights. However, one of the ironies of the trip was a visit to Old Trafford which felt very wrong to me. I did mention to the tour guide that I was a Cov fan and got under their skin a little about what the Pogba situation was like, what their thoughts were on Man City winning the title and how I felt the re-appointment of David Moyes as manager of Man Utd would be great for them (tongue in cheek). Anyway it was all good fun.
